Seat belts

WARNINGS
During the movement of the driver and passengers must wear seat belts. In no event it is impossible to transport children, including infants, in the lap of adults, fasten your seat belts.

Checking the condition of seat belts
Make sure that the straps are not twisted as a result of improper installation. If the belts are twisted or jammed during retraction, pull the strap on the entire length sufficient to ensure that it can straighten out. Then return the belt to its original position.
Fully pull the belt and release it fully involved. If the belt jams when moving in both directions, check the status - the presence on the braid of dirt, grease and others. Wash the strap only mild soap. If the belt can not be rinsed with this solution, replace it.
Check the condition of all places of fastening the belt. Bolts should be tightened. Remove any traces of corrosion in those places where the strap is attached to the body. Replace corroded fasteners.
Replace the belt if you notice the following damages:
- Strand breaks or razlohmachivanie;
- Cuts at the edges of the belt loops;
- Curved braid;
- The presence of tears or cuts.
Replace the belt assembly at detection of following damages:
- Is not properly fixed belt buckle;
- Weakened belt release button;
- Does not release the belt buckle;
- Increase in the force required to release the belt;
- Cracks on the surface of the buckle.

WARNINGS
Periodically inspect and check the serviceability of belts, buckles and fasteners. If the belts are removed for any reason, it is necessary to ensure their correct installation.
For trouble-free operation observe cleanliness tensioner seat belts. Replace belts if damaged buckles or tightening mechanism.
Belts who have been critical load in an accident, should be replaced.
When exposed to sunlight and chemicals ribbon belt loses its strength. With the loss of the original color (color fading) belt should be replaced.
It is forbidden to handle the webbing belt chemicals, tint or discolor, this will weaken the belt. Replace the belt, discolored or weakened by chemical means.
Always replace the belts in the set. Do not install the buckles and belt tensioners are not designed for the seat or other vehicle
.

Pretensioner
If the vehicle is subjected to a frontal collision at a certain angle, the gas generator is ignited by an electrical signal block SRSCM.

Driving functioning pretensioner
Fig. 8.2. Driving functioning pretensioner: a - starting position; b - the pretensioner operation (cranking gear pretensioner); to - state after the pretensioner operation; 1 - a gas generator; 2 - a spring; 3 - balls; 4 - line (cylinder); 5 - lock balls

The gas leaving the gas generator will cause movement of the piston in the casing pipe (cylinder), which will lead to turning of the gear pretensioner (Fig. 8.2). The gear rotates the gear piston and satellite - planetary gears. As a result, the belt is tensioned by the inertial rotation of the winding drum.
Thus, the belt pretensioners reduce the severity of injuries of the driver and front passenger by the tension of the inertial belt prevents forward movement of the driver and front passenger, and eliminates their impact on the steering wheel or dashboard.

The circuit operation of the load limiter
Fig. 8.3. The circuit operation of the load limiter: a - retractable stretched, the force of less than 5.5 kg; b - torsion beam is deformed, the force is equal to 5.5 kg; 1 - retractable seat belt; 2 - the torsion bar

To mitigate the impact force chest belted driver and front passenger seat belts on inertia during an accident is a load limiter. When the impact force reaches a certain value, the torsion bar is deformed pre-tensioned seat belts, which leads to unwinding of inertia reel seat belt - the impact force is reduced (Fig. 8.3).

A WARNING
Before continuing, wait at least 30 seconds after disconnecting the wire from the negative terminal of the battery.

Withdrawal
Disconnect the negative battery terminal.

Remove the lower B-pillar trim (see. Fig. 7.48).
Remove the cover of the anchor plate.
Remove the bolt, remove the lower anchor plate and the front seat belt.

WARNINGS
Do not disassemble or repair the unit pretensioner.
Do not drop the module pretensioner and prevent it from contact with water, grease, and so on. If there are any dents, cracks, deformation or corrosion, replace the module.
Do not place any objects on the module belt pretensioner.
Do not expose the belt tensioner to temperatures exceeding 93 ? C.
Module pretensioner is triggered only once. Replace the belt tensioner after operation.
When disposing of the unit triggered pretensioner wear protective goggles and gloves.
