Removal and installation of the vacuum amplifier

Remove the brake master cylinder. On vehicles with a diesel engine, remove, without disconnecting hoses, fuel filter bracket. Disconnect the vacuum hose from the vacuum amplifier. Remove the bottom panel on the floor of the body. Remove sound insulation around the pedals. Remove the spring cotter pin and remove the axis connecting the plug of the vacuum amplifier with the brake pedal. Remove the four servo mounting nuts to the pedal bracket. Remove the gasket, take aside and remove the vacuum amplifier.

Check of the vacuum amplifier: A - Check the length of the protruding stem of the vacuum amplifier by applying vacuum: a = 10,2-10,5 mm; B - check the vacuum booster pushrod length
Fig. 7.14. Check of the vacuum amplifier:
And - check the length of the protruding stem of the vacuum amplifier by applying vacuum:
a = 10,2-10,5 mm; B - check the vacuum booster pushrod length: b = 125 mm; 1 - an adjusting nut; 2 - locknut

Before installation, check the size of "a" protruding rod, which should be 10,2-10,5 mm (Fig. 7.14) by applying to the hose of the vacuum amplifier vacuum of 500 mm Hg (33.332 kPa).
Measure the distance "b" from the mating face of the vacuum amplifier to the axis of the adjusting plug, which must be 125 mm. Adjust it with the nuts
1 and 2. Install in the reverse order of removal. At the same time tighten the threaded connections to specified torque. Bleed the brakes. Check the distance between the floor and the pedal body. If necessary, make adjustments.
