Check of effort on the steering wheel



NOTE
Before the test, check the tire pressure, the type of tires and surface contact.

Set the steering wheel to the center position.
Remove the cover of the steering wheel.
Start the engine and set the idle speed.

Measurement of force on the steering wheel in both directions

Using a torque wrench, measure the force on the steering wheel in both directions (Fig. 5.2).
Maximum permissible force: 6 Nm.
If the force on the steering wheel more than the maximum allowable, repair power steering.
Tighten the nut on the steering wheel.
Torque: 35 Nm.
Install the cover of the steering wheel.
