|   Using the scanner HI-SCAN  | 
|   1. Turn off the ignition.  | 
|   2. Connect the scanner to the HI-SCAN diagnostic socket.  | 
|   3. Turn on the ignition.  | 
|   4. On the HI-SCAN scanner read the fault codes.  | 
|   5. Eliminate the malfunction.  | 
|   6. Clear the DTCs.  | 
|   7. Disconnect the scanner from the HI-SCAN diagnostic socket.  | 
|   Using the voltmeter  | 
|   8. Turn the ignition off.  | 
|   9. Connect a voltmeter to terminal 1 of the diagnostic socket.  | 
|   10. Connect the L-15 wire to the diagnostic socket.  | 
|   11. Sample output is shown on the voltmeter.  | 
|   12. Read DTCs.  | 
    |   13. Clear the DTCs.  |
