Removal and installation of the fuel pump
The fuel pump is mounted and a unique way to remove it requires a special key VW 3217. If it is, then the pump can be removed together with the interior of the suction body.
Note When removing elektrobenzonasosa fuel tank must be filled to not more than 2/3. |
A warning When removing the fuel pump fuel may leak a little. Fuel vapors are poisonous and flammable, so it is necessary to ensure good ventilation of the workplace. |
Removal of the fuel pump sequence is as follows: - Disconnect terminal "-" of the AB; - Turn away a short time filler cap to relieve pressure in the system; - Remove the carpet on the right side under the second-row seat, remove the bolts and remove the hatch elektrobenzonasosa and fuel level sensor;

- Disconnect the pump from the four-plug connector 11 (Fig. 206), the fuel level sensor 30 of the fuel pump 31; - Disconnect the supply and return pipes 9 from the flange 12; - With a special key 3217 VW remove the flange 12. If there is no special tool, remove the plastic nut, which are small fins, using a screwdriver (preferably blunt) easy blows on it; - Remove from the opening of the fuel tank flange 12 and O-ring 14;
Note On the bottom side of the flange are attached two fuel: inlet 13 (represented by the letter ?«V?») and a return (recycle) 15 (designated by the letter ?«R?»). |
- Turn left fuel pump, bringing it out of the bayonet mount and remove it. The installation of the fuel pump spend to sequences of return to removal following these guidelines: - When installing the pump not to deform the float fuel level sensor in the tank; - When installing flange pay attention to his position. It has an arrow that after the installation must be in line with the arrow stamped in the tank; - Dampen gasoline sealing ring flange 14 prior to assembly; - Check the tightness supply and return piping. Secure them with spring clips.
