Engine compartment



A WARNING
Be especially careful when working in the engine compartment.

Turn off the engine, remove the ignition key.
Brake the car a lay brake.
Set the gearshift lever to the neutral position, the selector lever of the automatic gearbox in position P.
Allow the engine to cool.
While the engine is hot:
- Do not put your hands in the area of rotation of the cooling fan motor - it can suddenly start to rotate;
- Do not open the cap of a broad tank of a cooling liquid, the cooling system is under pressure.
Try not to spill on hot engine fluid - they can ignite.
Avoid short circuit of electrical circuits, particularly on the battery.
During the control works with the engine running beware of the rotating parts (eg V-belt pulleys, alternator, fan blades cooling system, etc..) And high voltage in the ignition system.
If the maintenance and repair of electrical or fuel system:
- Always disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery;
- Do not smoke near the engine;
- Never work near open flames;
- Always keep the "hand" working fire extinguisher.
Do not confuse them with the liquid refilling - it will cause serious disruptions to units and systems.
For early detection of leaks of oils and fluids, you should regularly inspect the parking lot under the car. If there are stains of oil or fluids, check the tightness of components and systems of the car at the service center Audi.
