Checking the oil in a mechanical transmission



The manual gearbox is not necessary to replace oil.
Put the car on the lift in horizontal position.
To loosen the screw the oil filler plug, use a key with a face head VW 3357.
To top up use the oil G 052 911 SAE 75W / 90.

Remove the oil filler plug of the gearbox, which is located in front of the left wheel drive shaft and can be closed thermal protector screen drive shaft (Fig. 2.22, 2.23).

Check the oil level a bent wire.
The five-speed gearbox 012 front wheel drive car it must be 7 mm from the lower edge of the threaded hole.
The six-speed gearbox and a five-speed 01E gearbox 01A with front wheel drive car, he should be at the lower edge of the threaded hole.
The oil level in the six-speed gearbox 01E four-wheel drive vehicle must be 1 mm from the lower edge of the threaded hole.
If necessary, add oil through the oil-filling hole.
Replace the plug and tighten its moment of gearbox 012 and 01A - 25 Nm gearbox 01E- 40 Nm.
