Replacement of the internal hinge of the drive shaft
Failure of the internal hinge of the drive shaft must be replaced completely. Secure the drive shaft in a vice with soft sponges. Remove the retaining ring from the end of the internal hinge. Mandrel remove a protective cover of the hinge with a flange and slide it onto the shaft.

Install the joint on the thrust plate VW402, fixed on the press table and mandrel VW408a press out the drive shaft from the joint (Fig. 10.12). Remove grease from the hinge.

Insert the inner hinge drive shaft. To this end, the inner end of the shaft to secure the device VW40-204a installed on the thrust plate VW402 at the press table, with the bottom of the shaft should be placed on a pedestal. VW522 mandrel press-fit hinge on a shaft (Fig. 10.13). Bevel the inner ring of the hinge should be on the part of the drive shaft. Attach the new holder of the hinge locking ring. Put 30 g of greasing G 000 603 on the hinge and 50 g in a protective cover. Apply on face flange sealant protective cover D-3, set the cover on the hinge and fix its collar.
