Lubrication system components
Fig. 2.186. Lubrication system components

Lubrication system combined: spraying under pressure. Under pressure lubricated main and connecting rod bearings and camshafts. The system consists of the oil sump, gear oil pump suction tubes, full-flow oil filter, oil pressure and oil valves.
The oil pump draws oil from the sump and feeds it to the oil filter. On the discharge side of the oil pump relief valve is located. At too high an oil pressure valve opens and part of the oil flows back into the sump.
Through the middle of the oil filter cartridge clean oil enters the main oil highway. When blockage of the filter bypass valve disposed in the housing of the oil filter, oil supplies are not filtered directly into the main oil highway. The pipe of the oil filter is a check valve that prevents the devastation of oil channels and hydraulic valve lifters engine. From the main oil line depart channels for lubrication of the bearings of the crankshaft. Through inclined holes in the crankshaft oil is supplied to the connecting rod bearings, and then sprayed onto the piston pins and cylinders. Simultaneously uplink oil is fed into the cylinder head and lubricates the bearings of a camshaft and the work of the hydraulic tappets.

Oil consumption
Speaking of oil consumption in the internal combustion engine, it is meant only the amount of oil, which is consumed as a result of the combustion process (waste consumption). In no event should not be confused with loss of oil consumption of oil occurring due to leakage of the oil pan, cylinder head cover, etc. Normal oil consumption occurs due to a small amount of combustion in the cylinders, and also due to removal of residues and wear particles. Oil wear under high temperature and high pressure arising in the cylinders of the engine. On oil consumption also have a great influence by external factors such as driving style, as well as precision manufacturing of engine parts.
The maximum allowable operating in oil consumption may be 1.0 liters per 1000 km.
Upon reaching the minimum level of oil should be required to top up (amount of top up the oil should not exceed 1 liter).

ATTENTION
On vehicles equipped with engines with a catalytic converter, it must be ensured that the oil level on the dipstick oil level was above the level of the maximum. If the car with a catalytic converter was flooded with too much oil, the excess part of it should be removed from the crankcase through the suction or discharge (special vacuum pump), otherwise unburnt oil will penetrate into the exhaust system and can destroy the catalytic converter.

The choice of oil for the engine lubrication
For the lubrication of engines of automobiles Hyundai applies multigrade oil. Multigrade oils have the advantage that they can be used both in winter and in summer. Year-round oil based liquid seasonal oil (eg, viscosity grade 15W). Due to the so-called oil thickening stabilized hot, so that for each state are provided with the necessary lubricity. ?W? SAE classification indicates that the oil can be used in winter.
Flush oils are multigrade oils with anti-friction additives in their use can fuel economy up to 2%. Flush oils have low viscosity (for example, 10W-30). They require an ad hoc basis (synthetic oil).
The recommended grade of oil quality API: HE BELOW SG or SH.
The recommended viscosity grade of SAE: depending on the expected ambient temperature until the next oil change.
