When the ignition coil antenna provides energy to the transponder, which stores energy in a capacitor.
As soon as the issue of energy from the loop antenna is terminated, the transponder provides confidential data using the stored energy.
The transponder uses an advanced encryption algorithm. When programming the transponder key to enter specific data of the vehicle, which are recorded in the memory of the transponder. Write a one-time, whereby the contents of the memory of the transponder can not be changed or supplemented.

Block ?�Smartra?� provides communication with the transponder built into the ignition key. Communication is carried out at a radio frequency of 125 kHz. Block ?�Smartra?� installed on the ignition switch next to the frame receiving and transmitting radio antenna.
Accepted loop antenna RF signal is converted to a block ?�Smartra?� posts in serial communication. Messages received by the engine control unit, is converted into a radio frequency signal which is transmitted through the antenna and the transponder key.
Block ?�Smartra?� produces validation and recognition of transponder calculation algorithm coding. It is only the enhanced interface that converts the data stream from the RF transponder in a series of messages to the engine control unit, and vice versa.

The engine control unit checks the ignition for special encoding algorithm that simultaneously programmed in the transponder and the engine control unit. Starting the engine is possible only with the agreement of the results of action algorithms. These transponders of all existing vehicle keys are stored in the engine control unit.

The device has a function ICM (?�Smartra?�), ECM (engine control unit), and diagnosis of rekeying.

Emergency Starting with the diagnostic tool
If the engine control unit detects a fault block ?�Smartra?� or transponder, it activates the immobilizer function in the emergency engine start. Emergency start is possible only if the memory of the engine control unit has been previously entered user password (4 digits). Password is selected, and the owner of the vehicle is introduced at the service station. For emergency starting the engine control unit 30 is unlocked only with the condition that the engine control unit and password are in "programmed" and the password the user is correct. The engine can be started only during this time, then it becomes impossible to start.
When issuing the wrong user password engine control unit rejects the request to run for one hour. The duration of this deviation can not be reduced by disconnecting the battery or any other acts. After connecting the battery starts counting from zero.

Emergency start with the ignition key
The emergency start can also be activated with the ignition key. This user password is issued to the engine control unit through a special sequence on and off the ignition. The engine control unit 30 is unlocked only with the condition that the control unit and the user's password in a state of "programmed" and the password user. The engine can only be started during this time, then it becomes impossible to start. After entering the new password starts counting a 30-second period, from scratch.
After switching off the ignition the engine control unit is locked after 8 seconds. For the next start is required to re-enter the user's password.

Troubleshooting immobilizer
By monitoring:
- The connection between the engine control unit and the unit ?�Smartra?�;
- Work unit ?�Smartra?� and transponder;
- The stored engine control unit data related to the immobilizer.
Errors immobilizer divided into three groups, each of which includes four typical error (faulty circuit, the range of schemes / deflection characteristics of Low Voltage / High). The classification error is shown in the following table.

Replacing the engine control unit and ?�Smartra?�
A faulty engine control unit is replaced with a "clean" or "neutral" block. At the same time all the keys to be programmed in the new block. Not programmed in the new block of keys will not apply (see. Key programming procedure). Since it is impossible to change the programming of transponders, special vehicle data should remain unchanged.
When replacing the ?�Smartra?� of any special procedures are required. Instead of the old unit ?�Smartra?� set a new one. This device does not store any data associated with the transponder.

Neutralization of the engine control unit
The engine control unit is in "neutral" condition with a test device.
The ignition key is inserted into the vehicle and the ignition is switched its data recorded. The engine control unit requests a screening device specific data of the vehicle. Posts communications are defined as "neutral mode". After successfully receiving the data engine control unit switches to the neutral state.
The engine control unit remains locked and does not provide emergency mode and start function "double-ignition".
Key programming procedure is the same as for the "clean" engine control unit. Due to the impossibility of changing the programming transponder vehicle specific data should remain unchanged. To change the data necessary to have new keys with a clean transponder.
