Wheels and tires

Verification procedures

Diagnosis as tire tread
Fig. 4.1. Diagnosis as tire tread

Perform diagnostics on the state of the tire (Fig. 4.1).

The corners of the front axle
When checking the alignment of the front wheels by means of a special device (wheel alignment tester) always set the vehicle on a flat surface so that the front wheels were in the straight-ahead position. Before testing, make sure that the front suspension, steering and wheel are in good technical condition. Also, check that the wheels are in the straight-ahead position, and the tire pressure is correct.

Toe (toe-in)

Toe
Fig. 4.2. Toe

Toe (the difference in the size of A or the angles a + b) is adjusted by rotating the tips of steering drafts. To change the toe tips rotate the right and left steering rod at equal angles in opposite directions. The amount of convergence will be reduced by the rotation of the tip left tie rod toward the rear of the vehicle (and the steering rod tip right - toward the front of the car).

Toe-B-A
Standard value: 0 ? 2 mm.

Adjusting the slip angles and steering wheel (side slip and steering angle)

Adjusting the slip angles and steering wheels
Fig. 4.3. Adjusting the slip angles and steering wheels

Slipping is adjusted by turning the side tie rod.
The rotation angles of the wheels are governed by the nominal torque, turning right and left side tie rods in opposite directions to specific angles.
External wheel turning angle: 32 ? 73 '? 2.
Internal rotation angle of the wheels (the difference between the left and right should be no more than 2 ?): 37 ? 41 '? 2.
The difference of the interior angles of rotation of the wheels of the means of torsion: 0,65 ?.
Tightening torque lock nut steering rod side: 50-55 Nm.

NOTE
Remove collars of protective covers before the rotation of the side rod ends.
Check the protective covers on the absence of twisting after installing the steering rod side.

Camber (camber)
The collapse of the front wheels is provided by the geometry of the front suspension (relative position knuckle and strut front suspension) ie adjusted at the factory and can not be adjusted during operation.
Camber 0 ? ? 30 '.

Longitudinal slope of the axis of rotation (caster)

Longitudinal slope of the axis of rotation
Fig. 4.4. Longitudinal slope of the axis of rotation

Longitudinal slope of the axis of rotation is adjusted at the factory and can not be adjusted during operation. If the pitch axis of rotation is not the standard value, replace the deformed or damaged suspension components.
Longitudinal slope of the axis of rotation 2 ? 30 '? 30'.

NOTE
Worn or damaged front suspension parts must be replaced before checking wheel alignment.

Wheel alignment
Fig. 4.5. Wheel alignment

For wheel alignment used a special tool (09529-21000) (Fig. 4.5).
The longitudinal inclination of the axis of rotation and camber are adjusted at the factory and can not be adjusted during operation.
If the pitch axis of rotation and camber is not within the standard value, replace the deformed or damaged suspension components.

The corners of the rear axle
Toe (toe-in): 0 ? 2 mm.

Adjusting the lower arm by rotating the cam bolt
Fig. 4.6. Adjusting the lower arm by rotating the cam bolt

NOTE
Adjust the lower arm rear suspension held cam bolt (Fig. 4.6).

The tip of the left arm: clockwise rotation increases the toe.
The tip of the right arm: clockwise rotation reduces toe.
When adjusting the convergence of the cam bolt (cam bolt) to be turned left or right, not more than 90 ? from the central position.

Camber

Adjust the top suspension arm by rotating the cam bolt
Fig. 4.7. Adjust the top suspension arm by rotating the cam bolt

Adjusting the upper arm rear suspension held cam bolt (Fig. 4.7).
Install the left and right of the spring according to the color markings.
When adjusting the convergence of the cam bolt (cam bolt) to be turned left or right, not more than 90 ? from the central position.
Camber (camber): 0 ? 30 '? 30'.

Check tire wear
Measure the tire tread depth.
Tread depth (minimum allowable value): 1.6 mm

Tread depth
Fig. 4.8. Tread depth

If the height of the tread is less than the minimum value, replace the tire (Fig. 4.8).

NOTE
Upon reaching the minimum allowable height of the tread on the tire wear indicator bars appear.

Check runout
The wheel is one of the axes of the car and set under the safety car rack.

Driving test runout
Fig. 4.9. Driving test runout

Measure the runout with a dial indicator as shown in Figure 4.9.
Replace the tire if its runout exceeds the limit.
Runout (maximum permissible value, steel disc):
- Radial - 0.6 mm;
- Axial - 1.0 mm.
Alloy wheels:
- Radial - 0.3 mm;
- Axial - 0.3 mm.

Tightening the wheel nuts
Tightening torque of the wheel nuts: 90-110 Nm.

Tightening the wheel nuts
Fig. 4.10. Tightening the wheel nuts

NOTE
After tightening the nuts using a pneumatic tool (impact wrench) should check the final torque with a torque wrench (Fig. 4.10).

Tightening the wheel nuts
Fig. 4.11. Tightening the wheel nuts

Tighten all the wheel nuts in the sequence shown in Figure 4.11.
