Overview

Steering wheel mounted on the steering column transmits a force to the steering gear. Next, the steering mechanism is connected to the steering rods in turn connected to a swivel in the result when the steering wheel is provided by the rotation of the front wheels of the car.

To reduce the force applied to the steering wheel to rotate it, set cars on hydraulic power steering. As additional power is used under high pressure hydraulic fluid which is supplied to the working cylinders are located on the steering mechanism. Distribution valve serves for injection in the power cylinder fluid pressure corresponding to the rotation angle of the steering wheel. The control valves operate on the principle of "open center": when the control valve does not work, the liquid pumped, bypassed back to the tank at zero pressure. The hydraulic pressure created by a pump driven by a belt from the engine crankshaft.
