Repair small damages of a body

Processing scratches body
If the scratch is superficial and does not reach the metal, clean the area around the crack renovator of paint or fine abrasive paste. Rinse with clean water. Apply with a brush to scrape a thin layer of paint and let it dry. Continue to apply paint to the level of the paint surface. Allow the paint to harden for 2 weeks, then grind. Polish the surface portion of the body car wax.
If the scratch, damaging the paint has penetrated into the metal body, the tip of a sharp knife, remove the rust from the scratches. Apply a rust converter in accordance with the instructions. Spatula putty paste coat scratch. After it is completely dry paint and polish the damaged area.

Repair of dents in the bodywork
With deep indentation of the structural elements of the body in the first place try to bend the dent to as close to normal body shape.
Metal body in place pin extends, whereby a full recovery of the original shape impossible. The optimal alignment of the dents approximately 3 mm below the surrounding surface. If you have access to the inside of the dent, should be carefully straighten it with a hammer with a wooden or plastic striker. During this operation should be firmly pressed against the outside of the field straightened right size block of wood to absorb the shocks of a hammer and prevent bending over a wide area. If the dent is in that area of the body where access from the back side is difficult or impossible, to drill the deepest point of the dent a few small holes in them screw the self-tapping screws and pull the dent with a pair of pliers, grasp the screw heads.
Remove paint from the damaged area, and at a distance of 20 mm around it. The easiest way to do this with a wire brush or sandpaper, impaled on a circle, attached to an electric drill. After dent alignment put on it a layer of putty, paint and polish.

Caulking and painting the body
When the plastering work required a flexible plastic or nylon spatula to give a smooth surface putty. Align putty on the damaged area of the body so as to give it the desired shape and smoothness. Once achieved approximately demanded contour, stop to smooth down with a spatula putty, since too long smoothing down it starts to harden, stick to the trowel and roll, causing the surface will be damaged. Apply subsequent, thinner layer of putty follows after drying of the previous layer and so as long as the level of putty begins to protrude slightly over the treated area. After curing putty it is necessary to remove the excess metal scraper or a file. Further processing is carried out using a set of skins, start processing the coarse, then fine. Emery paper lying flat on a wooden block, otherwise it is impossible to achieve an even surface. At the final stage of polishing waterproof sandpaper periodically moisten with water. This will give the treated surface a special putty smooth. Puttied dent should appear surrounded on perimetre a layer of pure metal. To remove dust and fats wash the treated area with water and wipe with a degreasing agent. Sprayed onto the thin layer portion of light soil. This will help identify all defects admitted at processing in the putty. Align them with a new layer of putty and sand the surface again.
After that the repair area is ready to final painting. Aerosol paint application must be carried out in a warm,
dry, windless and easy atmosphere. When painting indoors should dampen the floor working area with water to prevent the ingress of dust into the air. At coloring only one panel the rest of the body must be covered from hit on them paints by the newspaper attached with adhesive tape. Before applying the primer thoroughly mix it, put on trial surface and achieve that it went smoothly. Apply a thick layer of soil, putting several thin layers. Grind the primed surface with waterproof sandpaper. Do not forget sprinkle sanded area with water and periodically to moisten in water skins. Before painting the treated area dry. Apply a coat of spray paint. The required thickness of the ink layer is achieved by applying several thin layers. The color should start from the center of the treated surface and move to the edges of the reciprocating motion as long as the entire surface to be painted and the region at the distance of about 20 mm around it. The protective film and newspapers remove later 10-15 minutes after the last coat of paint. Allow fresh paint to harden for at least two weeks, and then using the updater paint or thin abrasive polishing paste align the edges of the painted area to the level of the old paint. Polish the surface.

Repair of considerable damages of a body
In severe body injuries and the need to replace a large part of the details need to be made at a workshop. If the damage to the body derived from the strong impact, it is necessary to check the dimensions of the body. Strength and shape of the entire body may change as a result of damage to individual components. Non-compliance with the strength characteristics and size of the body may be the cause of violations of driving. In addition, non-uniform pressure will influence the steering, engine, transmission and can cause increased wear and violation of their functions.

Recommendations for use in the repair welding of body
Security measures at carrying out welding work
During welding and other work related to the strong iskrovydeleniem near the battery, be sure to remove the battery.
It is forbidden to carry out welding, hard and soft soldering parts filled the air conditioner. This also applies to those components of a vehicle, welding, which can cause heating of the air-conditioner parts. When carrying out repair and painting work in an oven or near the temperature should not exceed +80 ? C.
Carbon dioxide welding
The car made for the use of carbon dioxide welding technology.
Melting deposited metal to the assembly of elements is carried out only by the heat formed by the electric arc occurring between the shaft and supported by the electrode and the workpiece.
For the protection of an inert gas which does not participate in the melting of the metal.
Plated metal and the base metal are different. This non-uniform (heterogeneous) the compound wherein the metal is applied, resulting in melting of the electrode, hardens due to the effect of wetting the surface, which is not subjected to melting. When this occurs no mutual dissolution of the two metals or metallurgical changes.
As an electrode using a wire made of copper - copper-aluminum, copper, lead or copper-silicon with a diameter of 0.8; 1.0 and 1.2 mm.
contact welding
The principle of resistance welding is to obtain the melting point of a certain diameter, which depends on the thickness of the welded sheets.
When using electric resistance welding supply heat generated by passing high voltage, and requires the application of pressure to the welded parts.
Welding on only one surface (called welding-core) does not provide a reliable connection parts, its use is forbidden in body repair.
To avoid power surges that lead to a deviation from the required welding conditions, do not overload the lines do not work with cables of insufficient diameter, does not have electrical power connectors too far from the contactor.
Welder working in low voltage, can not provide high-quality welding.
To ensure proper nutrition welding systems necessarily need a power circuit with wires section 6 or 10 mm2 If the chain length exceeds 50 m.
The diameter of the tip of the electrodes should be selected depending on the sheet thickness (diameter x thickness = 2 + 3 mm).
It is necessary to choose the electrode holders to freely pass through them mites, which have the shortest length.
Poor adjustment can warp or burn-through-welded sheets and lead to low strength of the welding point.
The electrodes must be smooth, properly sharpened, with no discoloration (hardened electrode is very poorly conductive and will not provide the correct spot welds).
Before welding to conduct a test plate of the same thickness and in the same order in which they are to be welded.
Check the strength of the spot weld, before determining the desired amperage and pressure necessary to produce high quality welds (too low amperage or pressure will result in sticking and welding of the parts is not).
Disconnecting the weld by pulling (via clamping) the resulting welding spots remain on one of the sheets (thicker), and the other sheet is a through hole.
Welding of poor quality if there is no welding at point division sheets (in this case their coalescence occurs rather than welding) or welding point diameter less than the minimum required value.
End point (core) should have a diameter of 4 mm for the reference sheet thickness less than 1.5 mm and a diameter of 6 mm thick reference sheet greater than 1.5 mm.
The quality of the spot welds determined by the following elements:
- Cleanliness of parts;
- Sufficiently long time pressing;
- The current value;
- The passage of the current;
- Compressive force sheets;
- Forging (cooling time in the compressed state);
- The diameter of the tip electrode;
- Perpendicular clamp sheets;
- The interval between welding cycles (cooling installations).
Visual inspection of the weld point is to verify that the point of no burn-through, through-hole and solidified spatter are slight bulge (trace depth of 0.2 to 0.4 mm) on the surfaces of both sheets of standard points and do not cause deformation of the sheets .
To avoid any future problem after repair or replacement of one of the sheet members of the body, restore the quality protection on all surfaces. This method allows to obtain the characteristics of the element, identical characteristics of the new element, and provides a guarantee of quality and preservation of corrosion for repair.
Use the special composition of the certified welding primer between the connected panels.
Observe the safety of work and fire safety.
When welding galvanized parts work in a well ventilated area.
