On cars KIA Spectra establish steering, power steering, and the type of gear-rack. The steering of the car consists of a steering wheel 12 (Fig. 8.1), the steering column 10, the steering mechanism 8 equipped with a booster, and two steering rods 6 and 14, connected by ball joints with swivel front suspension.

C steering wheel airbag, in the central strip of the steering wheel mounted horn switch. Steering wheel hub nut is attached to the upper shaft of the steering column.

Collapsible steering column, adjustable height, is equipped with energy-absorbing elements that enhance passive safety and anti-theft device in the ignition, locking the steering wheel shaft. The intermediate steering shaft 12 (Fig. 8.2) is connected to the steering shaft by a universal joint. Located on the steering column and controls the headlights, turn indicators, headlight and windscreen wiper.

The steering mechanism is installed in the engine compartment. Carter steering mechanism 8 (see. Fig. 8.1) is fixed to the front suspension crossmember.
The pressure of the working fluid in the power produced by the pump 1, the vane type which is mounted on the bracket and the motor is a Poly-V belt from a crankshaft pulley. Installed in the pump bypass valve to maintain the desired fluid pressure in the power steering according to the speed of the crankshaft of the engine. Power steering is installed in the engine compartment on the right mudguard bracket and is connected by a hose to the power steering pump and return to the backbone of the working fluid. In case of refusal of the steering amplifier driving the possibility remains, but the effort on the steering wheel increases.

Tie rods are attached to the steering rack ball joints. Tips of steering drafts through ball joints are attached to the rotary fists front suspension. By turning the tip nut steering rod fixed. Rotate the tie rod ball joint to the tip relative adjusted toe-steered wheels.
