Cleaning Engine

A WARNING
To prevent environmental contamination and clean the engine engine compartment in designated areas equipped with drains or local treatment facilities.

During operation of the vehicle on the outer surfaces and engine components accumulate deposits of dirt and oil. In the sump they degrade the oil cooling, whereby its viscosity is reduced, engine parts wear out rapidly. The accumulated near the engine oil dipstick abrasive particles each time checking the oil level can get into the crankcase, and if gear box oil level is equipped with a probe - in the gearbox housing. Dirt and oil on the elements of the engine management system and high-voltage electrical cables of the ignition system in the engine compartment creates unwanted electrical circuits, especially in wet weather, which make it difficult to start the engine and create interruptions in its work. Finally, a highly contaminated engine does not pass inspection.
Clean the cylinder head, cylinder block and the sump special detergent that removes all kinds of dirt. Detergents and purchased in the store can be divided into two groups:
- Shampoo for cleaning the engine;
- Universal means of, for example, for cleaning the engine and remove the bitumen stains with body paint.
From the available tools can be used in aqueous solution of laundry detergent or dishwashing liquid.

WARNINGS
Never use gasoline for cleaning the engine, as any spark (even static electricity between your clothes and the car body) can cause a fire in the engine compartment.
Do not use an open flame. Do not smoke and do not start the engine until the complete removal of detergent residues from the surface.
If you can not dry the engine with compressed air after washing, avoid direct contact with the electrical appliances, high voltage wires, coil or ignition module.
It is forbidden to start the engine until the complete removal from the surface of the detergent composition and water - in this case sharply increases the risk of failure of the electrical equipment.

Hold engine washing is preferred in special car washes - this is a standard service of most car washes. The engine is first treated with a special composition, then washed manually, and then rinsed with water under pressure, and dried with compressed air. After washing, check the operation of electrical appliances and motor operation.

A WARNING
Before washing the engine can not be allowed to enter the water to the generator, the starter and the engine management system elements.

During the cleaning of the engine in the "home" conditions you need: a small scraper, paint brush, toothbrush (for hard to reach places), a bowl of water or a garden sprayer. Significant deposits of dirt and oil, you must first remove the scraper. If the wiper is not at hand, then to remove any dirt and oil is well suited screwdriver with a long handle, and it is better - a wooden spatula. Blow After washing the engine with compressed air.

HELPFUL ADVICE
If you do not have a compressor to blow the engine with compressed air cleaner can be used by connecting a hose to its outlet.
