Conditions for firing airbags



Front airbags are triggered under the following conditions.
- The strength of a frontal impact of a vehicle exceeds a predetermined value.
- The direct head-on collision of the car with the rigid wall at a vehicle speed above 22 km / h.
- Hitting a curb, pavement edge or hard durable item.
- A hard landing after a jump or drop the car.
- An oblique collision in front of the car, direction within the 60 degree sector.
- Falling into a deep pit and a collision with the wall of the pit.
The conditions under which the front air bags may not work are listed below.
- A collision with a tree or pole. Despite the severe damage the body in similar accidents, the longitudinal deceleration of the vehicle can not exceed a predetermined value at which shall operate front airbags.
Oblique hit the front of the vehicle. In this case, the longitudinal deceleration experienced by the vehicle may not exceed a predetermined value, which must operate with front airbags.
- Facing the rear of the vehicle or the rear underrun protection of a truck. Longitudinal deceleration experienced by the vehicle during such collisions, can not exceed a predetermined value, which must operate with front airbags.
The following are conditions under which the front air bags do not usually work.
- Beat the car behind.
- Side impact vehicle. However, it can trigger side airbags and inflatable curtains.
- Rollover. This may work side airbags and inflatable curtains, but not the front air bags.
Side airbags and inflatable curtains are activated, if the strength of a side impact (right or left) exceeds a predetermined level. However, the front airbags while usually fail.
The conditions under which the side airbags and inflatable curtains may not work are as follows.
- Oblique hit the front of the vehicle. In this case, the lateral deceleration experienced by the vehicle can not exceed a predetermined value at which shall operate side airbags and inflatable curtains.
- A lateral collision with a tree or pole. Despite the severe damage the body in similar accidents, the lateral vehicle deceleration may not exceed a predetermined value at which shall operate side airbags and inflatable curtains.
- Rollover. In this case, the lateral acceleration experienced by the vehicle may not exceed a predetermined value, which must operate with side airbags and inflatable curtains.
- Lateral collision with two-wheeled vehicle. In such collisions lateral acceleration experienced by the vehicle can not exceed a predetermined value at which shall operate side airbags and inflatable curtains.
Side airbags and inflatable curtains are generally not disclosed in the following cases.
- Beat the car behind.
- Frontal hit the car. However, in this case, can be actuated frontal airbags.
