Precautions with the system of passive safety (SRS)

ATTENTION
Improper handling of the airbag module can lead to sudden tripping pillows and running injury. Be sure to read the safety rules when performing these tasks.

The car is the Mazda 3 is equipped with passive safety, which includes the air bag driver, air bag passenger, side airbags and side curtain airbags. In violation of the sequence of operations may operate suddenly passive safety system, which will lead to an accident. If the maintenance of the system of passive safety was a mistake, the system can not perform its functions in a collision. Before performing the service (including installation or removal of elements, their inspection or replacement), read the following items, and then follow the steps in the repair.
You can start working within 90 seconds after the ignition key is turned to ?LOCK?, and the wire is disconnected from the negative (-) battery cable. (Passive safety system is equipped with a spare power source so if you get to work earlier than 90 seconds after disconnecting the negative (-) battery cable, passive safety system might work.).
Do not expose the air bag modules on the button sound, the instrument panel, as well as sensors of airbags direct action of hot air or flame.

ATTENTION
Symptoms of passive safety is difficult to confirm, therefore, diagnostic codes are the most important source of information for troubleshooting.

Even in cases of minor collisions when the passive safety system does not work, check the modules and sensors airbags.
Before the repair, remove the sensor of the airbag in order to avoid damaging it.
Never use the passive safety system parts from another vehicle. Replace parts with new ones. Do not disassemble or repair modules and sensors air bags for reuse. If the modules and sensors airbags fell, have cracks, dents or other defects in the buildings, bracket or connector, replace them with new ones.
When troubleshooting electrical circuits in the system using volt / ohm meter high impedance (not less than 10 k / V).
Elements of passive safety systems are equipped with information labels. Follow the directions on this label.
After working on a system of passive safety check lamp its alarm. When you disconnect the wire from the negative (-) terminal of the battery and the memory clock audio system is de-energized. Before starting work, make a note of the contents of the memory of the radio. After performing all the operations to restore audio settings and set the time on the clock. To prevent erasure of memory in storage systems never use an external source of backup power.
