Differential assembly
Differential assembly is held in reverse order. However, when the assembly is necessary to pay special attention to the following: - You must insert the two side gear and install a plastic separator;

- If necessary, replace nuts for bolts with flanged shafts (for example, stripped threads) is extruded outside the old nut or knocked out, and new nuts are pressed from the inside. Always ensure that the nut is fully secured over the entire circumference to the mounting surface (see. Fig. 205); - Insert both shafts with flanges in the side gears. Enter a tapered hole in the satellite and deploy it to 180 ?. Then insert the second cone satellite so that it is in alignment with the first. Align bevel satellites via hole axis of satellites and drive axle. Secure both axle pin, if used. All items are thoroughly lubricated with gear oil. Installation is crimped in a hot state of the driven gear to operate as follows: - Before installing the driven gear thoroughly clean the surface of the differential housing with a wire brush (but not emery cloth) and grease it with sealant VW - AMV 185 100 01; - Warm up gear (this time to 150 ? C) and quickly drive in gear in the differential case. Fig. 206 shows how the gear set.

The arrow points to the bevel drive wheel shoulder is on the bottom side. After pressing to unload the press not for another one or two minutes, until the parts have cooled. Pressing carry out as quickly as possible. To check the temperature, be sure to use a thermometer; - When attaching the gear rivets need to purchase new special bolts. Install the differential gear on the box and secure it with bolts, washers and nuts; - Tighten the differential in a vice and tighten the bolts and nuts alternately crosswise torque of 70 Nm; - Speedometer drive and differential bearings can be installed together with the help of shock or overmolded. Box differential in both cases should have a reliable support.
Note The driven gear can be replaced without replacing the gearbox output shaft. Gear must have the same number of teeth. |
