Removing and installing gearshift



Although completely disassemble the gearshift falls very rarely below describes this process. To do this, follow these steps:
- Press out gear lever gaiter from the center console of the frame;

- Disconnect the gear knob on the lever and pull it together with the cuff. It will have to break the spring clip 1 shown in Fig. 211;
- Using Fig. 211, unscrew the two screws indicated by the arrows 2, located between the console and the gear lever housing;
- Remove the lambda sensor from the front exhaust pipe, and the pipe is completely disconnected and removed. For details, see. Sec. "Exhaust system";
- Detach the front panel of thermal insulation;
- Release the front crossbeam beneath the exhaust system (exhaust gas);
- Disconnect the rear crossmember beneath the rear part of the exhaust system;
- Slowly lower the exhaust pipe and secure it with wire;

- Weaken indicated in Fig. 212 connecting bolt and remove your finger from the shift rod gear lever;

- Wrung out from a transmission cable (Fig. 213), located between the gear lever and the transmission on the side of the gearbox, freeing him from the mount, indicated by the arrow. To do this, squeeze the two plates;
- Disconnect the gear control unit from the underside of the body (four screws);

- To lower the gear control unit together with the thrust levers down, hold them over the gearbox and then remove. In Fig. 214 arrows 1 and 2 illustrate both of these operations. Setting mechanism is carried out in reverse order of removal. Pull the gear lever must be adjusted as described in the next section. In addition, during installation you need to consider the following;
- To get traction the gear lever in the retaining clip slightly moving inside the shaft gearbox;
- Fix the cable extending between the gear mechanism and the gearbox, on the beam and press it to the node mounting on the gearbox (see. Fig. 213);
- Bolted rear cross member to the rear of the exhaust system and the metal panel of thermal insulation;
- Install the front metal panel, thermal insulation and the front exhaust pipe. Replace the lambda sensor. Tighten bolts of the front cross beam under the exhaust pipe;

- Unscrew the cuff as shown in Fig. 215, and insert the gear knob in the direction of the arrow on the cuff. Fit adapter sleeve and insert it into engagement. Slide the gear knob and on the palm arm cuff;
- Fix gear knob with a new spring clip;
- To fix the gear control unit bolts to the body to 25 Nm.
