Draining



Periodic replacement of oil and the oil filter - the most important preventive maintenance procedure.
Change the oil must be carried out immediately after a trip to the not yet cooled down engine to better oil flew down together with pollution.
Lift up the vehicle and park the vehicle in a horizontal position on a pit.
Remove the bottom mudguard of the engine.
Petrol engines and diesel engine 1.9 liter TDI
Place the container for oil gathering under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug. If necessary, press a stopper when to turn away, so that the oil did not proceed prematurely, and drain the engine oil.

Remove the oil filter (Fig. 2.3). If the filter is turned away with difficulty, using a special key 3417.
When the oil is completely drained, wipe it around the drain hole and replace the oil drain plug with a new seal.
Tightening torques of the oil drain plug:
- Four-cylinder engines with a metal oil pan - 30 Nm;
- Four-cylinder engines with aluminum oil sump - 50 Nm;
- Six-cylinder engines - 40 Nm.
Clean the installation location of the oil filter and screw the new oil filter, pre-lubricated with oil filter O-ring.
Fill in the appropriate engine oil brand.
Diesel engines V6 and 1.9-liter with pump / nozzle
Place the container for oil gathering under the oil drain plug and unscrew the plug. If necessary, press a stopper when to turn away, so that the oil did not proceed prematurely, and drain the engine oil.

Using a ring spanner SW 32, loosen the oil filter cover (Fig. 2.4).

2 Remove the O-ring (Fig. 2.5) and the filter element 3 of the oil filter.
Clean the oil filter housing and install the new filter element 3.
Replace the cover 1 2 new O-ring and screw the lid on the case, having tightened its moment of 25 Nm.
Place the container for oil plum under a drain hole and remove the oil plug, if necessary, by pressing the stopper, turn away when that oil did not proceed prematurely, and drain the engine oil.
When the oil is completely drained, wipe around the oil drain plug and replace the plug with a new seal, tightening it to a torque of 25 Nm.
Fill in the appropriate engine oil brand.
