Proper positioning of the thermostat on the petrol engines of 2.4 and 2.8 liters

Set the thermostat into the cylinder head so that the bleed screw located on top (Fig. 7.15).
Set the thermostat with a new gasket and fix bolts, having tightened their moment of 10 Nm. Before installing the seal ring grease it with fresh coolant.
Install the timing belt and adjust its tension.
Install poly V-belt.
Fill in cooling liquid in cooling system.
Start the engine and check the cooling system for leaks.
