Withdrawal



Replace the steering column can only be complete, since it does not provide repair. Available only to replace the ignition switch.
Before disconnecting the battery, check whether you have the code switch on the radio.
Switch off the ignition and disconnect a wire of "weight" from the storage battery.
Set the wheels for movement directly.

A WARNING
Do not separate the top and bottom of the steering column. The relative movement of the steering column, even 5 cm can cause damage.

Remove the airbag.
Will remove the steering wheel.
On vehicles with ESP electronic stability remove the sensor steering angle.
Remove the two screws and pull over, remove the handle steering column adjustment.

On the lower side, remove the two screws and remove the upper housing 1 (Fig. 14.3) of the steering column.

Remove the three screws 1 and 2 (Fig. 14.4) and remove the bottom casing of a steering column 3.

Disconnect the electrical connector 1 (Fig. 14.5).
Remove the bolt 2 (see. Fig. 14.5) securing the steering column switch.
Unplug electrical connectors 3 and remove the switches from the steering column.
Release clips of wires of the steering column and move wires aside.
On vehicles with automatic gearbox, move the selector lever to position P.

Turn the key in the ignition switch in the ignition is switched on (?�Ignition on?�) (Fig. 14.6).
Remove the lever 1 and remove the ignition cable 2 (see. Fig. 14.6) by pulling it out of the housing ignition.

1 Remove the nut securing the universal joint of the steering column (Fig. 14.7).
Loosen the eccentric bolt by turning it clockwise and remove it. Moving to the side, remove the universal joint of the steering column.

Turn out bolts 1 (fig. 14.8) securing the steering column and remove the steering column.
