Year-round oil

In engines of cars it is preferable to use multigrade oils. The advantage of multigrade oils is that they do not have to choose, depending on the time of year. They are manufactured on the basis of an oil (10W type). In the hot state, this oil additive stabilized - so-called thickening agent to provide the corresponding properties of the oil at different temperatures. When choosing a multigrade oil should focus on modern brand with a wide temperature range of viscosity, such as SAE 10W-40, 15W-50.
The letter W (?winter? - winter) in designation SAE characterizes suitability of oil in the winter.
