Corrosion protection of body

With daily use of the vehicle in the paint and anti-corrosion coating Body corrosive mediums icing reagents (in winter), sand, small stones, vibration and temperature changes that cause micro-cracks in the protective coating of the body through which water and oxygen penetrate to the surface metal. As a result of exposure to aggressive environments body begins the process of metal oxidation (corrosion), which leads to loss of their strength properties, while the presence of large amounts of water, salts and acids only accelerates the oxidation process.
Corrosion is most susceptible to hollow profiles of the body, the bottom, the lower parts of the doors and pillars, as well as the compound body parts, including locations of spot welding.
Fastest corrosion develops in the hidden cavities and underbody in contact with moisture, dirt, salts, acids. In this regard, during the operation of the vehicle to provide additional protection of internal surfaces and cavities of the body is applied to a special anti-corrosive composition and, in connection parts - sealing mastic.
Anticorrosive composition, which handles the inner cavity of the body and the bottom, must meet the following requirements:
- Contain corrosion inhibitors;
- Uniformly distributed across the treatment surface and create a protective film which is resistant to vibration and temperature changes;
- Have good adhesion with the elements of the body or before coating;
- Be compatible with the previously deposited paint and anticorrosive;
- To maintain their physical and chemical properties for a long time under the influence of external factors;
- Contain material that when handling the vehicle meet the standards of fire safety and environmental safety.
Avtokonservant "Movil" or "Movil-2" is used for the treatment of cavities. Recommended handle cavity every 1-1.5 years. Avtokonservant allows processing surfaces previously coated NIGROL or other oils, and rusty surfaces.
Protective lubricant NGM-ML is used for the treatment of cavities. This material treated cavities of new cars.
The protective film coating NG-216B is used to cover the parts of the car underbody.
Mastic asphalt-protection BPM-1 is used to protect the underbody from corrosion and to reduce noise. The coating thickness of 1.0-1.5 mm.
Plastisol D-11A is recommended for underbody protection against corrosion, abrasion and noise isolation. The coating thickness of 1.0-1.2 mm.
Plastisol D-4A for sealing welds.
Non-drying putty 51-G-7 is used to seal the joints of the body.
In the internal cavity corrosion-resistant material is sprayed way air and airless spray.
When air spraying requires compressed air at a pressure of 0.5-0.8 MPa, the spray gun with tank, hose, and nozzle extension for the pistol. The best coating quality is achieved with airless spray pressure of 4-12 MPa, which allows you to spray a large viscosity materials.
For the mechanical protection of the wheel arches of small stones and sand, in addition to the standard protection arches installed at the factory, use the plastic wheel arch liners, additionally installed on the car. The main disadvantages of the additional wing flaps - drilling additional holes in the wing for attaching them, the deterioration of the ventilation wheel arches, the accumulation of dirt and salt in the fender liner on protruding areas eyelet wing. To protect the paintwork of the bonnet and the front lower part of the door using special Stone Chip transparent adhesive film.
