Removing and installing front wheel drive Description of construction

The drive and front wheel hub shown in Figure 3.81. Each wheel comprises two constant velocity joints and the shaft. The external hinge consists of a body, a separator, and the inner ring of six balls. The hinge housing and cage grooves to accommodate beads. The grooves formed in the longitudinal plane along a radius to provide the desired angle of rotation of the outer hinge. Spline tip hinge housing is installed in the front wheel hub and is fixed thereto with a nut. The housing is mounted on a hinge shaft splines between the lock washer, retaining ring and locking ring.
NOTE To prevent fall puller 09568-34000 suspend it on a wire or rope to any part situated close. |
The inner joint differs from the outer in that the track body and case are straight, allowing the hinge parts movable longitudinally direction (it is necessary to compensate for the movements caused by vibrations of the front suspension and power unit), as well as the fact that the transmission torque of the engine components are not beads and rolls. In the outer hinge balls set a sorting group, if necessary, replace all six balls of the hinge; balls must be the same sorting group. Details joints are lubricated with special grease for constant velocity joints, which is laid in the joint housing during assembly. Sealing of joints is provided with rubber protective covers that are fastened with metal fastening clips. Withdrawal Raise the car, remove the front wheel.

Knock out the cotter pin and loosen the nut the hub of the front wheel (Fig. 3.82).

Extract the finger of the spherical rod end from the steering knuckle with special tool 09568-34000 (Fig. 3.83).

Drain the oil from the gearbox.

Plastic mallet beat out the drive shaft from the hub (Fig. 3.85). Insert a pry bar between the transmission case and the case of the internal hinge of the drive shaft, and, acting as a lever mount, separate the shaft from the gearbox. Separate the wheel hub on the drive shaft, moving the hub itself.

Check the anti-vibration load (Fig. 3.86) for cracks and wear.
A WARNING After each removal, replace the self-locking nut and cotter new. |
Setting The outer diameter of the locking ring inner hinge shaft 27 should be equal to 0.4 mm. Tighten the screw connections the date specified below.
NOTES During repair work, disassembly of the outer hinge is not allowed. The hinge shaft laid special grease. Grease other brands is not recommended. Clamps for mounting of protective covers, replace with new at each removal. |

Apply the transmission oil on the splined inner liner joint drive shaft and the mating surface of the gearbox housing. When connecting the drive shaft to the gearbox housing Make sure not to damage gryazeotrazhatelnoe ring.

Before connecting the shaft to the gearbox, set him down the snap ring slot (Fig. 3.87). After installing the shaft, make sure that it is not moved by hand force. Install the washers concave side in, tighten the nut on the hub and lock it with a locking pin.

Dismantling Remove the clamps cover of the internal hinge and slide the cover from the hinge case, while Make sure not to damage the cover. Separate the cover of the internal hinge.

Remove the retaining ring (Fig. 3.90) and remove the clip from the clip from the body of the hinge. Clean the working part.

Use a screwdriver to unfasten the clamp and remove the clamp from the shaft covers the inner and outer hinges. Using the tool 09495-33000 or other suitable tool, remove the ring from the housing gryazeotrazhatelnoe external hinge.
