Checking ignition coils

Measuring the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil
Fig. 7.2. Measuring the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil

Measure the resistance of the primary winding of the coil between terminals 1 and 2 connectors S18-2 and S68-1 (ignition coil for cylinders ?1 and ?4) ignition coils and between terminals 1 and 2 connectors S18-1 and S68-2 (ignition coil for cylinders ?2 and ?3) ignition coil (Fig. 7.2).
Nominal value: 0,5 ? 0,05 Ohm.

Measuring the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil
Fig. 7.3. Measuring the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil

Measure the impedance between the terminals of the secondary winding high voltage and cylinders ?1 ?4, as well as cylinders and ?2 ?3 (Fig. 7.3).
Nominal value: 12,1 ? 1,8 kW.

ATTENTION
Before measuring the resistance of the secondary winding, make sure that the connector of the ignition coil is disconnected.
