Fig. 3.94. Checking the ignition locking cam

Install a cable lock selector lever and a cable lock the ignition key in this position. At the other end of a cable lock the ignition key should be fixed in the ignition lock and cable lock selector lever must be fixed on the brake pedal in the appropriate position.

Connecting cables to the selector lever
Fig. 3.95. Connecting cables to the selector lever

Temporarily connect a cable to both the selector lever, as shown in Figure 3.95. Securely attach each cable to the corresponding pin of the locking cam.
Gently pull the cable lock selector lever in the direction of the arrow ?E?.
Make sure that the tip of a cable lock selector lever regards blocking pin, then secure the outer sheath of the cable on the bracket using the self-tapping screw (self-tapping bolt).
Lightly press the locking cam ignition key in the direction of the arrow ?Q?.
The gently pull the cable lock the ignition key in the direction of the arrow ?G?, to pull the rope, and then lock the outer sheath of a cable nut.

The procedure to verify the installation selector lever lock
When the selector lever to position "P", then the brake pedal lock button on the lever can not be pressed (selector lever can not be moved from the position "P" to another position).
If the brake pedal is depressed (pedal in the range 15-22 mm) when the selector lever to position "P", the button lock must operate without restrictions and the selector lever can be smoothly moved from the "P" to another position.
If the brake pedal is released, the selector lever must be smoothly without sticking to move into position "P" from any other position.
The brake pedal should move smoothly, without jamming.
When the ignition key in position ?LOCK?, even when the brake pedal is released, the lock button on the selector lever must be triggered.
Ignition Key should not be rotated to position ?LOCK?, when the selector lever is set to other than the ?P?.
If the selector lever is set to position ?P?, the ignition key should be easily rotated without binding to position ?LOCK?.
