Technical characteristics of the multifunction switch
The multi-functional switch

When removing the multi-function switch on cars equipped with air bags, take the following precautions.
To conduct the operation lifting airbags allowed only after 30 seconds or more after turning the key in the switch (lock) of ignition switch to ?�LOCK?� and disconnect the wire from the negative terminal of the battery. The system is equipped with airbags backup power for an airbag, when the wire is disconnected from the battery when the crash. Redundant power supply provides power for 150 ms.
Never attempt to disassemble and repair the air bag module or clock spring.
Do not drop the air bag module, and do not let it contact with water, grease, and so on. D. If there are any dents, cracks, deformation or corrosion, replace the module.
The airbag module should be stored on a flat surface and placed so that the pillow cover facing up. Do not put the lid on any items.
Do not expose the air bag module to temperatures exceeding 93 ?� C.
Once deployed, the airbag must be replaced with a new clock spring.
When disposing of the unit triggered pretensioner wear protective goggles and gloves.
When disconnecting the connector of clock spring from the air bag module, be careful, do not apply to it a lot of effort
Dismounted air bag module should be stored in a clean dry place cover up.
Before setting the clock spring set front wheels for rectilinear movement and align the label with the pointer ?�NEUTRAL?� clock spring. If the label is not accurately aligned with the pointer, the steering wheel can not fully rotate when turning or wire inside the clock spring is broken, it will prevent normal operation of the SRS and possibly leading to serious injury to the driver.
On the reverse side of the steering wheel with an Allen wrench, remove the screws and remove the air cushion of the driver (DAB).
Remove the pin driver's airbag and horn button.
Loosen the nut of the steering wheel.
After applying the marks on the steering shaft and steering wheel special tool (09561-11001), remove the steering wheel.

A WARNING
Do not shoot down the steering wheel with a hammer, as this may damage the mechanism of injury-preventing the steering column.

Remove the screws and remove the upper and lower casings of a steering column.

Remove the three screws that secure the multi-function switch off and unplug the connectors (Fig. 10.18). Remove multi-function switch assembly.
Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
