A WARNING
When installing, use the new self-locking nuts.

Withdrawal
Loosen the nuts of the front wheel. Lift the front of the car and establish on supports.
Remove the front wheel.
Separate brake hose from the fork damper.

Remove the nut and remove the bolt fork shock absorber to the lower arm (Fig. 5.2).

Remove the bolt and remove the plug from the shock absorber (Fig. 5.3).
Remove the three nuts top of the rack and remove the upper mounting ring.
Moving up, remove the base from the front axle assembly.

Setting
Place the support plug-pillar towards the inside of the car, then attach the rack assembly to the wheel housing.

Install the plug on the bar and secure with the bolt (Fig. 5.4).
Install the brake hose.
Install the wheel.

Dismantling

Using a special device J38402 (1) grips A-20 (2) for the spring shock absorber

Special tool (J38402, A-20) compress a spring strut so that it provided only a small force on the rack (Fig. 5.5).

A WARNING
The spring has very big effort of compression, therefore use only very reliable tool. In no case do not connect a spring wire.
When using the special adaptation for compression of springs securely capture and compress spring coils on opposite sides of the spring.
Do not use an impact tool for tightening nuts spring compressor.

Remove the self-locking nut on the top end of the damper rod.
Remove the special tools (J38402, A-20), the top support of the shock absorber, spring seat, spring, dust cover and lower spring pad.

Check
Check the rubber parts for damage or destruction.
Check the spring for damage and loss of elasticity.
Typical warning signs of shock absorber failure, are as follows:
- Long swinging body when driving on uneven road surfaces;
- Increases the body movements when driving on uneven road surfaces;
- An uneven and erratic movement of the wheels (bouncing) motion in a certain range of speeds, including cornering;
- Deviation from the desired path of the vehicle during braking;
- Unstable cornering and skidding car;
- Increased tire wear, characterized by erasing picture tires;
- The emergence of clicks and background noise while driving. Clicks and light strokes can be caused by other faults suspension, in particular, the weakening of threaded joints, failure of the hub bearings or wear of constant velocity joints of the drive shaft.
To check the technical condition of the shock absorber, remove it from the car.
Inspect the hull and shock-absorber rod. In case there should be no mechanical damage to the stem - corrosion. Set the damper to a vertical position and check the operation by moving the shock-absorber rod the entire length of stroke, and moving the rod up and down the length of 50-100 mm. In all cases, shock-absorber rod should move smoothly, with a noticeable resistance. If the stem moves in jerks or damaged, replace the shock absorber.
Check for leaks shock absorber fluid. A small amount of leaking oil while maintaining normal operation damper. If the stain liquid from the shock absorber extends only to the lower leg of the spring, it is normal. With low leakage of fluid from the damper rod is lubricated O-ring damper, which increases its service life.
In the presence of high leak fluid shock absorber requires replacement.

A WARNING
When replacing the shock absorber follow regulations for disposal.

Disposal of the shock absorber. Fully extend the shock-absorber rod.

Drill a hole in the area A (Fig. 5.6) to remove gas from the cylinder.

A WARNING
The effluent gas from the absorber is safe, but care must be taken to avoid injury from flying out during drilling chips.

A WARNING
Be sure to replace both springs on one axle of the car, even if only one spring is damaged.
When installing it is necessary to use the car on the same axis of the spring with the same specifications (with the same color-coded).

Assembly
Special Tools J38402, A-20 compress a spring strut front suspension.
After a complete spring set it to shock.

A WARNING
Do not use an impact tool for tightening nuts spring compressor.

Make a diagram of the installation of the springs according to the classification of loads.

Install the dust cover, the upper spring seat, bushing ?�B?�, arm, sleeve ?�A?� and by hand tighten a new self-locking nut.
Position the upper and lower ends of the coil spring in grooves in the upper and lower spring seat.

Place the top support of the shock absorber so that the studs of support is in line with the projection of the fork arm (Fig. 5.7).
Remove the special tools (J38402, A-20).
Hold the shock-absorber rod from rotating, tighten the shock absorber rod nut torque 20-25 Nm.
