The upper suspension arm

The upper arm front suspension is shown in Fig. 5.8.
Remove the ball joint nut of the upper arm, but do not remove it.

Using a puller (1) to disconnect the upper arm from the steering knuckle

Puller 09568-34000 disconnect the upper arm from the steering knuckle (see. Fig. 3.74).

Remove the two nuts securing the upper arm front suspension and remove the upper arm (Fig. 5.15).

Remove the axis of the upper arm (Fig. 5.16).

Check
Check the bushing for wear and damage.
Check the upper arm in the absence of bending or breakage.
Check the torque that must be applied to crank pin of the spherical hinge of the upper arm:
- If there are cracks in the protective cover, replace it and add grease in the joint;
- Several times rocking from side to side of the pin of the ball joint of the upper arm;
- Screw the self-locking nut and measure the torque required for the rotation trunnion ball joint of the upper arm;
- If the torque is above the permissible value, replace the upper arm;
- If the torque is below the allowable value, the ball joint can be reused if it does not stick or no excessive backlash.
Torque - 0.5-1.5 Nm.

A WARNING
Torque check at room temperature and speed ball joint stud 0.5-2 min -1 after swaying sideways at an angle of 3 ?�.

Installation is performed in reverse order of removal.
