Checking the composition of the mixture at idle



1. Turn off electricity consumers and warm up the engine.

Idle (engine L8)

Idle (engine LF, a model with a manual gearbox)

Idle (engine LF, a model with an automatic transmission)

Idle (engine L3)

* Excludes a temporary decrease in idle speed immediately after the power consumers.
** The motor fan runs at high speed. The switch lights on. Rear window defroster switch on. The cooling fans are working.

Start the engine.
Keep the engine speed of about 3000 min -1 until the fans start to run the cooling system.
Release the accelerator pedal.
Wait for the shutdown cooling fans.
Check the normal idle speed and ignition timing.
Insert the exhaust gas analyzer probe in the exhaust pipe.
Check the normal concentrations of CO and HC exhaust gases.
