Seat belt pretensioners

For better protection in a crash seat belts installed on the driver's seat and front passenger are equipped with pyrotechnic pretensioners and load limiters. When a sufficiently strong frontal (or near-frontal) collision of a vehicle is a simultaneous activation of the front airbags and seat belt pretensioners. Pretensioners provide rapid tightening of belts and eliminate their weakness in the process of deploying the airbags. Seat belt pretensioners can not provide effective protection for the people in the car accident if they are fastened properly. Load limiter seat belt, working in a controlled manner, takes the strap in order to reduce the burden on the chest of the passenger to a safe level.
