Ignition coil
Check Remove the protective cover and disconnect the wire from the ignition coil.
| Fig. 7.3. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil
|
To measure the resistance of the primary winding of the ignition coil, connect the ohm meter in accordance with the scheme shown in Fig. 7.3. If the coil is operating normally, the continuity of the connection should not be.
| Fig. 7.4. Use an ohmmeter to measure the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil
|
To measure the resistance of the secondary winding of the ignition coil, connect the ohm meter in accordance with the scheme shown in Fig. 7.4, and compare the value obtained with the required.
| Fig. 7.5. Use an ohmmeter to measure the insulation resistance of the ignition coil
|
Ohmmeter measure the resistance between the primary winding and the housing of the ignition coil in accordance with the scheme shown in Fig. 7.5. If the result of one of these tests is unsatisfactory, replace the ignition coil.
Refitting Disconnect the negative battery terminal. Remove the rubber protective cap and remove the wires from the ignition coil, after noting their location. Remove the bolts, remove the bracket and remove the coil from the clip on the heatsink. Place the spool into place and secure with bolts. Connect the wires and reliably put the rubber cap.
Technical characteristics of the ignition coil Primary resistance, Ohm | 1,5 ? 0,12 | The secondary resistance, Ohm | 10-30 | The resistance between the primary winding and the coil housing mOhm | at least 10 |
