Drive belt

Installing the V-belt pulley
Fig. 140. Setting the V-belt pulley 1 - a pulley; 2 - ribbed belt

Drive the coolant pump and the generator is a Poly-V belt, which is mounted on a pulley as shown in Fig. 140.

The device of the tension mechanism (2.9 liter engine)
Fig. 141. The device of the tension mechanism (2.9 liter engine): 1 - a bolt M8 fastening the damper to the cylinder head; 2 - washer; 3 - shock; 4 - spring arm nuts to the cylinder head; 5 - the lever of the spring; 6 - a spring; 7 - spacer; 8 - bolt spring; 9 - belt tensioner; 10 - a bolt of fastening of a tension roller bracket of the generator; 11 - plug fixing roller; 12 - washer; 13 - a sealing ring between the tensioning lever and the cover of the drive camshaft; 14 - the lever of the tension wheel; 15 - dowel pin of the tension lever on the cover of the drive mechanism of a camshaft; 16 - a cover of a tension roller; 17 - M7 bolt fastening the damper to the tensioning lever; 18 - plug tension wheel; 19 - a bolt of fastening of a tension roller on the lever; 20 - belt tensioner; 21 - plug tension wheel; 22 - M8 screw; 23 - the guide roller; 24 - an arm of fastening of the guide roller; 25 - a bolt of fastening of an arm to the cylinder block

The device of the tension belt drive mechanism (damper can be removed separately without disassembling other parts)
Fig. 142. The device of the tension belt drive mechanism (damper can be removed separately without disassembling other parts): 1 - a bolt; 2 - damper; 3 - a bolt; 4 - a nut; 5 - the lever of the spring; 6 - a spring; 7 - a bolt; 8 - a bolt; 9 - belt tensioner; 10 - a bolt; 11 - cap; 12 - washer; 13 - tensioning lever; 14 - a bolt; 15 - plug

The belt is taut because of tension rollers, holding spring. Installed damper prevents vibration of the belt. In Fig. 141 shows the individual parts of the tension of the belt drive mechanism. Tension rollers interchangeable among different models. In the basic configuration without additional units installed tension roller is equal to the width of the other pulley grooves. In other versions of the roller surface is smooth. This must be considered when replacing. In Fig. 142 shows the entire tensioning mechanism. To access it, the front of the engine must first be dismantled.
Belt drive must be checked every 20 000 km. To do this, put a chalk mark on the belt in an accessible place. Crank the engine starter for at least one turn. To avoid starting the engine to push the screwdriver to lever off the fuel pump. Scroll starter engine, inspect the entire length of the belt until the marks made. Cracked, worn or scorched places indicate the need for replacement.
For removal and installation of the drive belt, proceed as follows:

Details of the drive belt tensioning mechanism
Fig. 143. Details of the drive belt tensioner: 1 - tensioning lever; 2 - a nut; 3 - a returnable spring; 4 - a tension roller; 5 - plug; 6 - the lever of the tension wheel; 7 - a damper; 8 - the top fastening of the damper

The weakening of the mechanism of action of the tension belt drive
Fig. 144. The weakening of the mechanism of action of the tension belt drive: 1 - a spring; 2 - shock; 3 - Mount the tensioning mechanism

- Loosen the nut of the tension lever 1 (Fig. 143) and insert the rod into the tensioning lever mechanism, as shown in Fig. 144. As the rod can be used, for example, metal bars with a diameter of 12 mm and a length of 180 mm;
- Press lightly on the rod to the left side, to press the bolt;
- Now click on the little bar to the right, easing tension spring;
- Press down the tension roller, to be able to remove the belt.
Belt installation is carried out in the reverse sequence. Please hold the strap through the tensioning roller, then successively put on all of the pulleys. The last thing the belt is worn on the water pump pulley. If the work has been done properly, the belt is installed under tension.
Removal and installation of the mechanism of the tension is performed in the following sequence:
- Release the front of the engine to access the details of the mechanism;
- Remove the drive belt as described above;
- Remove the tensioning lever 5 (see. Fig. 142) of the spring and the spring 6. When assembling the spring to establish a color mark-up;

Location damper tensioner (only loosen the cylinder head)
Fig. 145. Location damper tensioner (only loosen the cylinder head)

- Unscrew the damper from the cylinder head (Fig. 145);
- Remove the plug 15 (see. Fig. 142), and unscrew the bolt 1 tensioning arm 13. When loosening bolts 14 press the tensioning lever in the direction against the cap. Before installing, thoroughly clean the back of the bolt thread on the thread of the bolt 1. 1 Apply sealant. Before installing the tensioning lever on the bolt 1 lubricate the space between the bearing arm bushings;
- Tensioning lever 13 with the damper 2 remove the tension roller 9. Do not lose the washer 12;
- Disconnect damper 2 of the tension lever 13. When replacing the damper must be vented several times by clicking on the stock. The damper is installed rod down, as shown in Fig. 142;
- Remove the cover 11, unscrew the screw 10 and remove the tension roller 9 to the tension lever 13.
Assembly in reverse order with the following tightening torque (Nm):
- A tension roller to the tension lever - 30;
- Tensioning lever - 100-110;
- Damper to the cylinder head - 21;
- Damper to the tensioning lever - 20;
- Tensioner arm to the head unit - 21.
