Removal and installation of the instrument panel

Disconnect the negative battery cable. Remove the air bag modules on the driver and passenger (depending on the version of the layout). Remove the ashtray. Remove the screws holding the center of the lining panel located under the car radio (Fig. 9.35). Remove the center of the instrument panel trim, remove it from the two spring locks, located on the central air vent and then remove the switches and disconnect the plug strip. Remove the car glove compartment and center. Remove the screws securing the control panel heating and ventilation (Fig. 9.36). Remove the cigarette lighter and ashtray illumination. Depending on the configuration, move the gear lever gaiter from the lower position or remove the casing of the gear lever. Slide the seat all the way forward, and then remove the fixing back of the center console (Fig. 9.37).

Tighten the screws on the upper and lower parts of the casing facing the steering shaft

Slide the seat back and remove fastening the front center console. Remove the rear bolt of the front center console, which is located between the gear lever and parking brake lever. Lift the center console for the rear, remove the bolts of the front and rear ends and remove the console assembly. Open the glove box and remove the lower shaft mounting and pull glovebox. Remove the glove box lamp switch and remove the light bulb with the cartridge. Remove facing the front right pillar under the instrument panel (Fig. 9.38). Remove the left side of the lower part of the instrument panel trim (
Fig. 9.39). Disconnect the alarm, remove the steering wheel. At the same time, take care that the front wheels have been set to the straight-ahead vehicle. Remove the cover facing steering shaft (Fig. 9.40). Remove the frame of the instrument cluster. Remove the instrument cluster. On the left side, remove and disconnect the control external rear-view mirrors, headlights and then corrector position in the vertical plane. Remove the screw securing the instrument panel, located on the dash, and then the screws located at the bottom center of the instrument panel, and lower mounting screws on each side (Fig. 9.41). Release of the spring clips on each side facing the front pillars. For vehicles with anti-theft device, remove the right side and disconnect the test lamp. Remove the decorative cap top panel screws. Remove the screws that secure the upper instrument panel, then gently remove with the assistant top two dowel sleeves and ducts (Fig. 9.42), being careful not to damage the controls.
Install in reverse order of removal. At the same time follow the proper alignment of the instrument panel on the locking sleeve. Note the correct position of the air ducts. Connect the pin pad. Before final installation, ensure operation of all controls.
