The selector lever of the automatic gearbox

Automatic Transmission four-stage hydraulically controlled gearshift. Managed by transmission via the selector lever. Lever (Fig. 1.43) has six fixed positions.
"P" - parking. To translate the selector lever in this position you must press the lock lever. The position is intended for parking the car or start the engine.

A WARNING
Set the lever to position "P" is allowed only when the vehicle is stationary.

When parking on a slope, first set the parking brake, and then move the lever to position "P".
?�R?� - reverse. To translate the selector lever in this position you must press the lock lever. Reverse must only after the vehicle is stopped with the engine idling.
?�N?� - neutral. In this position the engine can be started. If the engine has decayed during movement should put the selector lever to ?�N?�, and let the engine starter.
?�D?� - switch forward gears. Depending on engine load and speed raises or lowers the selected transmission is automatically switched forward gear.
"2" - switch-gear I and II. Set the lever to this position is recommended when driving in the mountains, when you want to ensure that a substantial margin of engine power and engine braking. It is not allowed to translate the selector lever in position "2" at speeds above 95 km / h. If the lever is set to "2", it is necessary to observe the speed limit to 95 km / h;
"1" - dim-I transmission. To translate the selector lever in this position, press the locking lever.
Lever is recommended to install at this position in the steep climbs and descents, as well as in traffic through deep snow, sand or mud. It is not allowed to translate the selector lever in position "1" at a speed of over 50 km / h. If the lever is set to "1", it is necessary to observe the speed limit to 50 km / h.
