Overview



On cars Golf III / Vento addition to transmission with manual switching are applied depending on the engine, automatic gearbox type 096, 01M and AG4, with four forward gears and one reverse gear.
The automatic transmission provides four gear and includes a torque converter and planetary gearbox.
Gear selection is performed using the selector lever mounted on the floor and having seven positions:
- "R" - parking (parking);
- ?�R?� - reverse;
- ?�N?� - in neutral;
- ?�D?� - switch 4 forward gears;
- "3" - switch 3 forward gears;
- "2" - switch 2 forward gears;
- "1" - the inclusion of only the 1st gear.
Starting is only possible in the "P" or ?�N?� selector lever.
On cars Golf III / Vento with automatic transmission provides a choice of modes "sport?� (?�S?�) and "economical" with the switch to the right on the selector lever. Management program "sport" provides the gear shift at higher engine speeds and allows the driver to select the operating mode of the program, which provides additional acceleration, including a higher or a lower gear at high engine speeds. It makes better use of engine power characteristics.
Operation is subject to the transmission of electronic-hydraulic control unit, a program which is consistent with the electronic engine control unit and has no manual adjustments. Therefore, troubleshooting can only be performed using sophisticated electronic diagnostic equipment. Objective electron-hydraulic unit is that, depending on the speed and engine load to select the desired shift time.
When you press the pedal "gas" into the floor to failure mode is activated immediately forced reverse gear (kick-down) to the lowest possible gear for maximum acceleration of the vehicle. In this mode, the following switch of raising transfer does not take place until almost the maximum speed of the engine crankshaft.

The thickness of shims - from 1,000 to 2,700 mm, with a pitch of 0.025 mm (see. Table. 5.15).

Total filling capacity (torque converter and transmission) is 5.6 liters.
When changing the oil requires 3.0 liters of oil ATF Dexron.
Oil change intervals: 60 000 km of run of the car or every 3 years.

Total filling capacity 0.75 liters
Used hypoid oil G50, SAE 75 W90.
Frequency of oil changes: not emptied.
