Parking brake

Details of the parking brake
Fig. 8.27. Details of the parking brake 1 - the lever; 2 - handle; 3 - the switch signal lamp; 4 - the base plate; 5 - traction control; 6 - leveler; 7 - the cable end; 8 - a protective boot; 9 - lock nut

The parking brake is fully independent from the service brake. The design of the parking brake is shown in Fig. 8.27.
The parking brake lever through the cable mechanism actuates the rear brakes. As the traction is used Bowden cable - flexible steel cable in a twisted braid. Wear lay cable in use is insignificant, but it may take after a big run of the car. Although thanks to the selection of material, this is very rare.
Brake Cable consists of two sections - the left and right, which are connected to the lever via the equalizer. Each section can be removed separately.
