Draining coolant Bay

Wiring coolant hoses

Wiring coolant hoses 1 - expansion tank; 2 - pipe cooling system; 3 - EGR valve with potentiometer EGR; 4 - heater heat exchanger; 5 - transmission oil cooler; 6 - coolant hose; 7 - coolant hose, the top; 8 - coolant hose, the bottom; 9 - radiator; 10 - engine oil cooler; 11 - the thermostat; 12 - cylinder head / cylinder block; 13 - the coolant supply tube; 14 - the water pump; 15 - the inlet manifold

Draining
Open the expansion tank cap.

ATTENTION
When you open the expansion tank from it can go hot steam. To avoid eye injuries and scalding Wear protective goggles and clothing. Cover the tank with a cloth and gently open it.

Remove protection crankcase.
Remove the bracket and remove the connecting pipe from the radiator.

NOTE
Observe regulations for disposal

Bay
Freezing coolant should be at least -25 ? C (in countries with arctic climates - not less than -35 ? C).

NOTE
As the concentrate may be used only G 12 plus the norm ?TL VW 774 F?. A characteristic feature - lilac
G 12 plus the norm ?TL VW 774 F? be mixed with the concentrate previously used G 12 - Red
G 12 plus and concentrates with a mark in accordance with the ?TL VW 774 F? to resist freezing cooling liquid and the formation of corrosion and scale. Additionally they increase the boiling point of the coolant. Therefore, throughout the year the cooling system have to work with anti-freeze and anti-corrosive concentrate.

It is also prohibited to reduce the proportion of concentrate in the coolant in the warm season, or when operating in countries with warm climates, adding to the cooling system water. The proportion of the concentrate should be at least 40%.
If, due to climatic conditions, the freezing temperature should be reduced, it is possible to increase the share of the concentrate plus G 12, but not more than 60% (the freezing temperature in such a case would be about -40 ? C). Beyond this limit freezing temperature to rise again and, moreover, decrease the heat capacity of the coolant.
When replacing the radiator, heater exchanger, cylinder head or cylinder head gasket reuse drain the coolant is prohibited.

Recommended mixing ratio

NOTE
The number of filled coolant can vary depending on the vehicle.

Bracket
Fig. 2.63. Bracket

Push connection pipe against radiator and slide the bracket in the direction of the arrow (Fig. 2.63).
Install the crankcase.
With the device for filling the cooling system.
Fill the coolant using the tool for filling the cooling system.
Without a means for filling the cooling system.

Expansion tank
Fig. 2.64. Expansion tank

Fill with coolant to the MAX mark. on the expansion tank (Fig. 2.64).
With and without means for filling the cooling system.
Close the expansion tank.
Turn off the heater.
Start the engine and about 3 minutes to maintain the speed of 2000 rpm.
Leave the engine running until you turn on the fan.

ATTENTION
When you open the expansion tank from it can go hot steam. To avoid eye injuries and scalding Wear protective goggles and clothing. Cover the tank with a cloth and gently open it.

Check the coolant level and top up if necessary. When the warm engine coolant level should be at the MAX mark, and when cold is between the MIN and MAX.
