Removal and installation of anther



Visual inspection of the anthers hinges
Perform the following steps.

Check anthers internal and external joints for leaks and damage (Fig. 5.27).

Withdrawal
Set the wheels straight.

NOTE
If the damage gpylnika inside the steering gets moisture and dirt. In the teeth of the rack must be determined at the touch lubricant film. If no lubrication, steering must be replaced. The steering mechanism is replaced in case of corrosion, damage or wear rack.

Remove the wheel.
Clean steering box in the boot.
This should eliminate the ingress of dirt into the steering through the damaged bellow.
Mark the position of the nut 3 on the steering rod.

Hold by turning the tie rods 2, loosen the lock nut 3 (Fig. 5.28).
Remove the spring clamp 1 gaiter clamp for mounting clamps and slide it towards the steering rod.
Remove the collar and pull boot from steering box housing.
Remove the tip of the transverse rod.
Pull boot with spring clamp with transverse rods.

NOTE
In case of visible signs of corrosion, damage, wear or contamination of the rack steering assembly is replaced.
In the absence of a visible film of grease on the steering rack assembly and replaced.

Setting
Before installing put on the rack supplied with the repair kit grease.

ATTENTION
Never use a different grease.

To do this, turn the steering in both directions until it stops.
For better clarity, the figure shows filmed steering.

Coat the rack teeth A and stock rails (from the abutment stop) lubricant (Fig. 5.29).
Set the wheels straight.
On the track rod put new collars and bellows.
Screw the tie rod to the mark put before removal.
Hold by turning the tie rods 2, 3 tighten the lock nut (Fig. 5.28).

Install the bellows 2 on steering draft 1 as shown in Figure 5.30.
Pliers for installing clamps secure the spring clamp on the bellows.
Put the gaiter on the steering housing.

Pliers for Phaeton steering mechanisms crimp the new clamp, as shown in Figure 5.31.
Further installation in reverse order.
After installation, check the wheel alignment.
Adjust the wheel alignment.
Perform basic installation angle sensor using.
Then follow the basic installation of power steering assistance.

Check Tie Rod End for any backlash, fastening and sealing anther
Perform the following steps.
At elevated on the lift car (wheel hang loosely) clearance check by pulling on the steering wheel and traction.
Check the mount.
