Verifying thermostat

Measure the length of a closed thermostat (Fig. 7.23).
Check the operation of the thermostat, you can: hang it on a string in a glass vessel filled with water, and heat the water to a boil. When boiling water thermostat valve should open. If the valve does not open, the thermostat is faulty and should be replaced.
The temperature of the thermostat valve opening is applied to the unit.
When the thermostat is heated to the boiling point of water the length of opening of the thermostat valve open b must be greater than the length of a closed valve and a 7 mm (see. Fig. 7.23).
The thermostat valve is not closed when the cooling water has to be replaced.
