The exhaust gases are discharged from the engine through the exhaust manifold 1 (fig. 5.17), receiving tube 4 (Fig. 5.18) converter 2, an additional 4 (Fig. 5.19) and 1 main silencers.
Some cars may not be fitted with catalytic converter (engine management system without feedback). In this case, instead of a system installed pipe-spacer, of equal length converter.

On the exhaust manifold oxygen concentration sensor is installed.

The exhaust manifold is fixed nuts on the studs of the cylinder head. Between the cylinder head and exhaust manifold flange mounted sealing gasket metalloarmirovannaya 1 (Fig. 5.20).
Reception pipe connected to the flanges of the exhaust manifold and catalytic converter and the flange converter - with the exhaust flange of the additional muffler. In turn, additional muffler exhaust pipe is connected to a reception pipe of the main silencer. Links mufflers with collapsible tubes. All flanges sealed system metalloarmirovannymi strips 3, 8, and 11. Each of the elements of the system can be removed individually without dismantling other elements.
To reduce the transmission of vibrations from the power unit on the exhaust system and the body is mounted in the exhaust pipe vibrokompensiruyuschy bellows 5 in a metal sheath.
Elements of the system are suspended from the body in the six rubber pads 3 (see. Fig. 5.18) and 5 (see. Fig. 5.19) or 6 (see. Fig. 5.20). And two pillows and the rear suspension of the main silencer, two pillows used front suspension and the suspension of the basic muffler front pipe, two pillows in the suspension of the additional muffler have a different shape.
To protect the motor and the base body of the heating elements of the system, the following steel termoekrany 2 (see. Fig. 5.17) - in front of the exhaust manifold; 2 and 3 (see. Fig. 5.19) - above the basic and additional mufflers; 1 (see. Fig. 5.18) - above the converter.
The exhaust system requires no special maintenance. Suffice it to periodically check the tightness of threaded connections and the integrity of the suspension cushions. In case of damage to system components, rust or burnout they are replaced in the collection, as mufflers with trumpets are collapsible nodes.

HELPFUL ADVICE
Periodically check the exhaust system. With an increased level of noise from the exhaust system and check it for leaks. To do this, start up the engine and check the whole system. Running a hand over a possible leak locations without touching the units, you will immediately feel the leaking gas. If necessary, replace the rusted and burned-out components.

WARNINGS
Let cool before repairing exhaust system, as during engine operation it is heated to a high temperature.
Exhaust gases are poisonous, poisoning them is seamless, so before starting the engine in the garage is required to open the gate!

For removal and installation of system components required to you: keys "10", "12", "14".

HELPFUL ADVICE
If it is impossible to replace the defective unit new to temporarily restore its performance by putting a metal patch on the damaged area and secure it with clamps or wire. Under the patch is recommended to put a sheet of asbestos.
In addition, retail sales of spare parts are in special kits to restore nodes exhaust system, with which you can temporarily remove the damage to the system to get to the service center or garage.
