Withdrawal Drain the coolant and disconnect the connection hose inlet pipe cooling system from the coolant pump. Remove the alternator drive belt and the water pump pulley. Remove the timing belt cover and the guide roller timing belt. Unscrew coolant pump, then remove adjusting lath of the generator. Remove coolant pump assembly from the cylinder.
Check Check each part for cracks, damage or wear, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary. Check the bearing for damage, increased noise during operation and a slow rotation, and replace the water pump assembly if necessary.
Check the pump for leaks fluid. Leaks through the hole "C" (Fig. 2.175) indicate leaking pump shaft seal. In the presence of leaks, replace the pump.
Setting Clean the mating surfaces of the water pump and cylinder block. Install the timing cover. Install the water pump pulley and the drive belt, adjust the belt tension. Fill the coolant system. Start the engine and check for leaks fluid.
Install the water pump with a new gasket and tighten the bolts to the specified torque (Fig. 2.176). Tightening torque of the mounting bolts of the water pump to the engine block: Engines 1.6-liter - the bolts "A" 12-15 Nm bolts "B" 20-27 Nm; engine capacity of 1.8 liter - 20-27 Nm. (bolt length 28 mm)
