Removal, check and installation of the radiator
Withdrawal Disconnect the battery. Disconnect the radiator fan motor connector. Remove the radiator drain plug and drain the coolant.
Remove the upper and lower radiator hoses and pipe expansion tank (Fig. 2.299). On models with automatic transmission oil cooler hoses, disconnect the automatic transmission.
ATTENTION After disconnecting the automatic transmission oil cooler hose must be closed with plugs holes in hoses, pipes and fittings radiator automatic transmission, to prevent leakage of oil automatic transmission and ingestion of foreign particles. |
Remove the heat sink together with electric radiator. Remove the fan from the radiator.
Check Check the radiator no bending or damaging the plates, and the absence of foreign material between the plates. If necessary, gently flatten the plate finned tubes Check the radiator for damage and scale deposits, rust or corrosion. Check the radiator hoses for cracks, damage or deterioration (wear). Check the expansion tank for damage. Check the condition of the automatic transmission cooling system hoses.
Setting Fill the radiator expansion tank and clean coolant. Start the engine and warm it up until the opening of the valve of the thermostat. Then stop the engine. Remove the radiator cap and add coolant to the base of the filler neck of the radiator, and then add a liquid in a broad tank to the top mark. Make sure there is no leakage of fluid from the radiator hose or connections.
