Removal, check and installation of the valve timing
The components of the timing belt is shown in Figure 2.14.
Withdrawal
Remove the crankshaft pulley and the water pump and pump drive belt (Fig. 2.14).
ATTENTION Turn the crankshaft clockwise to align the timing marks on the crankshaft sprocket and block the relevant VMP piston of 1st cylinder. Adjusting labels of asterisks of camshafts must be aligned with the reference marks on the cylinder head (Stars guide pins facing upwards). |
Remove the timing belt cover. Remove the timing belt automatic tensioner.
NOTE In the case of re-use of the timing belt should be applied in chalk on the back (non-working) surface of the belt an arrow indicating the direction of rotation (or the location of the crankshaft pulley) that during the installation of the belt not to confuse the direction of its rotation. |

NOTE Be careful not to damage the cylinder head key when removing camshaft sprocket. |
Before removing the oil pump sprocket, remove the plug from the left side of the unit and slide the plug into the hole 8 mm screwdriver to fix the balance shaft. Screwdriver should go in the hole to a depth of more than 60 mm (Fig. 2.18). Loosen the nut of the oil pump sprocket, remove the asterisk. Loosen the bolt of an asterisk the right balance shaft so that it can be turned away from his hands. Remove the drive belt tensioner and balance shafts.
ATTENTION After removing the balance shafts belt do not try to weaken the balance shaft sprocket bolt while holding the sprocket shaft with pliers or a similar tool. |

Remove the crankshaft sprocket "B" drive balance shafts (Fig. 2.19).
Check sprockets, roller timing belt tensioner and idler roller Check the camshaft sprocket, crankshaft sprocket, tensioner pulley Timing belt guide roller and the absence of excessive wear, cracks or damage. Replace if necessary.
Check the ease and smoothness of rotation of the roller tensioner timing belt and the guide roller and make sure no excessive backlash and unusual noises during rotation. Replace parts if necessary (Fig. 2.20). Replace the roller if traces of grease leaking from his bearing.
Check the automatic tensioner Make sure there is no leakage of fluid from the tensioner. Replace tensioner when necessary.
Check the condition of the tip of the pusher tensioner. If damaged or worn, replace the tensioner (Fig. 2.21).

Measure the protrusion of the pushrod from the body tensioner (Fig. 2.22). If the protrusion is not equal to the nominal value, replace the tensioner. Standard value: 14.5 mm.

Install the tensioner in a vise with soft metal jaws. Slow Start plunger into the body. If the force moving low, replace the tensioner. Checking spend some time (Fig. 2.23).
NOTE Tensioner in a vise should be set exactly, without distortions. Be sure to use a soft sponge lining clutches. |
Check timing belt Check the belt for dirt or oil deposits. Replace if necessary. Small belt remove dirt with a dry cloth or paper wiper. Do not use solvents for this purpose.

At engine major repairs or adjusting the belt tension, carefully inspect the belt. If you find any of the following defects, replace with a new belt (Fig. 2.24).

Install the crankshaft sprocket "B" drive balance shafts (Fig. 2.25).
ATTENTION Note the orientation of the flange of the sprocket. Incorrect installation sprocket belt is torn. |

Apply engine oil to the spacer and set it on the right balance shaft (Fig. 2.26). Observe the installation orientation of spacers.

Install the right balance shaft drive sprocket and tighten by hand sprocket bolt. Align the marks on the sprockets balance shafts with the frame (Fig. 2.27). Put on a belt drive balancing shaft without slack in the leading branches.

Install belt tensioner balance shafts so that its center is located on the left of bolts and flange clip was directed to the crankshaft pulley (Fig. 2.28). The mark on the right balance shaft with the frame.
Turn the tensioner to tension the belt slack sample. When Tightening the tensioner lack of follow-rotating shafts. If the crank shaft, the belt get excessive tension (Fig. 2.29). Check the combination of adjusting labels with the frame.
Method 1: click on the middle finger of the hand strap, check that the deflection of the nominal value. Nominal deflection: 5-7 mm. Method 2: Check the belt tension using the tension meter.

Install the belt guide and an asterisk "A" of the crankshaft. Orientation parts shown in Figure 2.31.
ATTENTION Incorrect installation guide belt breaks. |
Install the special washer and bolt crankshaft sprocket. Tighten regulated torque. Tightening torque bolt crankshaft sprocket: 110-130 Nm.

Insert a screwdriver into the hole plugs from the left side of the unit to secure the balance shaft (Fig. 2.32).
Tighten the nut torque regulated. The tightening torque of the oil pump sprocket: 50-60 Nm.

Install the camshaft sprocket and tighten the bolts to the specified torque (Fig. 2.34). Tightening torque bolts camshaft sprocket: 80-100 Nm. Install the automatic tensioner.

ATTENTION Before installing the lock plunger automatic tensioner suitable housing pin (Fig. 2.35). |
NOTE Locking tappet is held in three stages. 1. Set the auto tensioner in a vise at an angle. Under the tensioner body, set remote washer. 2. Slowly crank tappet in the housing to align the holes in the housing and plunger. 3. Secure the best pusher pin. |
ATTENTION Do not remove the locking pin pusher to install the timing belt. |
Tighten the bolt to the specified torque. Tightening torque tensioner: 43-55 Nm.

Align the labels of asterisks of camshafts with the frame during installation ?��1 Piston at TDC compression stroke (Fig. 2.37).
NOTE If the mark on the camshafts do not coincide with the frame, turn the shaft in the right direction, but no more than two teeth asterisks because further contact occurs valve and piston. If necessary, rotation of more than two teeth gently turn the crankshaft anti-clockwise by about 45 degrees. Return the crankshaft to the home position. |

Check the alignment of the mounting mark of the crankshaft with the frame.
Check the alignment of the mounting mark of the oil pump with the frame (Fig. 2.39). Put the belt on the tensioner pulley, working anti-clockwise from the crankshaft sprocket. Hold the belt on the roller tensioner. Pulling the belt, put it on the oil pump sprocket. Put the belt on the guide roller. Put the belt on a star of the intake camshaft. Turn the exhaust camshaft clockwise by one tooth to the alignment marks on the sprocket with the top plane of the cylinder head. Pulling the belt with both hands, put it on the exhaust camshaft sprocket. Rotate the automatic tensioner pulley to a complete sample of the belt slack. Temporarily tighten the bolt clips.

Check the alignment of timing marks with the frame (Fig. 2.40). Remove the clip pusher automatic tensioner.

Rotate the crankshaft two turns clockwise. Pause for 15 minutes. Measure the protrusion of the "A" pusher tensioner (distance between the lever and the body tensioner) (Fig. 2.41). Make sure that the protrusion on the technical specifications. Nominal value: 6-9 mm.
