Drive shaft with SHRUS Birfield (B)



Dismantling

PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Do not disassemble the unit support rollers.
  2. For lubrication of constant velocity joints, use only special grease.
  3. When assembling SHRUS necessary to establish new collars.

1. Remove the clamps and pull the protective cover from the ball SHRUS (TJ) of the drive shaft.

Be careful not to damage the protective cover.

2. Special pliers, remove the retaining ring and hammer through a brass core bring down support rollers tripoidnogo connection with the drive shaft.

3. Clean the support rollers tripoidnogo connection.

4. Remove the clips and pull the protective covers of spherical CV joints (BJ) and SHRUS Birfield (BJ).

If the dust cover is to be reused before removing the cover for its protection, wrap the drive shaft splines with tape.

Check

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check the drive shaft splines.
2. Check for signs of rust, water and foreign objects in the boot band Birfield (BJ).
3. Check the support rollers tripoidnogo connections for wear or corrosion.
4. Check the groove inside the CV joint (TJ) for wear or corrosion.

5. Check the dynamic damper for damage.

Assembly

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Before installing the cover wrap to protect the drive shaft splines from tripoidnogo joint (TJ) with adhesive tape.

2. Grease the drive shaft and install the cover.

Grease SHRUS Birfield (B. J.):

  • In addition 2.5 liter automatic transmission: Centoplex 278M / 136K
  • Only 2.5 liters of automatic transmission: CENTURY

Grease tripoidnogo SHRUS (T. J.):

  • In addition 2.5 liter automatic transmission: KLKTJ 41-182
  • Only 2.5 liters of automatic transmission: ONELUBERGKN

3. To set the dynamic damper position SHRUS Birfield (BJ) in a straight line relative to the shaft, set the damper and secure the small clamp.

4. Put grease in a protective cover tripoidnogo SHRUS (TJ) and set the cover on the hinge.

Protective Case tripoidnogo hinge (T. J.):

  • 2.0 liter automatic transmission:
  • Hinge: 75 ?� 3 g

Protective cover: 45 ?� 3 g

  • 2.5 liters of automatic transmission:
  • Hinge: 65 ?� 3 g

5. Insert the grease in the protective cover tripoidnogo SHRUS Birfield (BJ) so much grease as it was wiped out during the inspection of the hinge.

Security hinges Birfield (W. J.):

  • 2.0 liter automatic transmission:
  • Hinge: 55 ?� 3 g

Protective cover: 60 ?� 3 g

  • 2.5 liters of automatic transmission:
  • Hinge: 55 ?� 3 g

Protective cover: 55 ?� 3 g

6. Install the covers.
7. Secure the protective cover SHRUS Birfield (BJ) collars.

8. To adjust the amount of air in SHRUS TJ fix covers so that the length of the drive shaft correspond to the desired values

The length of the left drive shaft:

  • With automatic transmission 2,0 l: 687,6 ?� 2 mm
  • With automatic transmission 2,5 l: 619,4 ?� 2 mm

The length of the right drive shaft:

  • With automatic transmission 2.0 liter: 1000,62 ?� 2 mm
  • With automatic transmission 2,5 l: 682,3 ?� 2 mm

9. Attach the protective cover SHRUS TJ collars.
