Steering Gear Replacement



The steering mechanism is removed for repair or replacement. We must remember that the steering mechanism - an essential element in ensuring traffic safety. Improper repair mechanisms can lead to serious consequences, so if you need to repair it only in a specialized workshop or replaced.
You will need: the keys "10", "17", "24", a special key for nuts of pipelines "17" key for wheel nuts.
1. Place the vehicle on a pit.
2. Loosen the nuts of the right front wheel.
3. Raise the jack and replace the bearings front of the car, remove the right-hand wheel.
4. Install the steering wheel in the straight-ahead position of the vehicle.
5. Drain the hydraulic fluid from the power steering system (see. "Replacing the hydraulic fluid and bleeding of the power assisted steering").
6. Disconnect a wire from the plug ?�-?� the storage battery.
7. Remove the pinion shaft of the steering mechanism of the steering intermediate shaft (see. "Replacement steering shaft").
8. Disconnect from the steering knuckle arm tie-rods (see. "Replacing the outer tie rod").

9. Loosen the hose clamp on the return hydraulic fluid to the steering tube by squeezing with pliers bent his ears; slide the clamp on a hose ...
10. ... and disconnect the hose.

NOTE
The operations described in paragraphs 11-16, are shown for clarity, removed the steering mechanism.

11. Remove the nuts of high pressure pipes and drain the fluid to the steering mechanism.

14. ... remove the holder of high pressure pipes and drain the power steering fluid and remove the pipes.

15. Remove the nut mounting bolts to the gear casing, holding the bolt head from turning.

17. Remove the nuts securing the seal to the steering body panels ...

19. Remove the nuts securing the steering front suspension crossmember to ...

20. ... and remove the steering mechanism, taking it through an opening in a niche of the right wheel.
21. Install the parts in reverse order of removal. Fill the power-assisted steering hydraulic fluid and bleed the circuit (see. "Replacing the hydraulic fluid and bleeding of the power assisted steering").
22. Check and adjust the angles of the front wheels (see. "Check and adjust wheel alignment").
