Check thermal gaps in the mechanism of the valve

Disconnect the negative battery cable.
Remove the right wheel.
Remove the right mudguard.
Remove the spark plugs.
Disconnect the high-voltage wire.
Disconnect the connector of the oil control valve (OCV).
Remove the ventilation hose.
Remove the cylinder head cover. Make sure the engine is cold.
Measure the valve clearance.
To measure the valve clearance, turn the crankshaft clockwise so that the piston ?1 established in TDC compression stroke.

The procedure for measuring the valve clearance
Fig. 2.77. The procedure for measuring the valve clearance

With the help of a special probe, measure the valve clearance at A (Fig. 2.77).
Record the measured values to select the appropriate tappets if in the future will require their replacement.
Rotate the crankshaft 360 ? clockwise so that the piston ?4 established in TDC compression stroke.
Just as in the first case, measure the valve clearance at the point B (see. Fig. 2.77).
Standard clearance (with cold engine):
- Inlet - 0,22-0,28 mm;
- Issue - 0,27-0,33 mm.
If the valve clearance is not correct, adjust them, or, in case of failure of adjustment, replace the new valve tappets.
Install all removed parts in reverse order of removal.
