Instructions for use of seat belts

- Seat belts should be based on those parts of the body, where are the strong bones. The belt should pass over the pelvic bone, chest and shoulder. It is necessary to avoid placing the lap belt on the abdomen.
- It is necessary to adjust the seat belt so that it is as tightly to the body, without breaking the convenience of landing. Only in this case the belt can effectively fulfill its protective function for which it is installed on the vehicle. Slack belt greatly reduces the effectiveness of the passive occupant protection.
- Make sure that the strap on the seat belt did not get wax, oil and other chemicals, especially the electrolyte used in the battery. To clean the seat belts, use mild soap and water. It is necessary to replace the seat belt if the strap is worn, dirty or has damage marks.
- You should always replace the seat belt assembly if it was used to occupants during a violent collision of a vehicle, even if there are no visible signs of damage to the belt.
- Do not use a seat belt if the strap is twisted.
- Each belt should be used by only one occupant at a time. It is dangerous to use a seat belt and child passenger sitting on his lap.
- Prohibit any modification of the seat belts, which violate the normal operation of the device to automatically select the slack adjustment strap or belt difficult to eliminate its sagging.

Fastening the seat belt
Fig. 1.128. Fastening the seat belt: 1 - directing bracket

Pulling on the inertia reel belt can be difficult if the strap and the intermediate guide bracket contaminated. Therefore, be careful that the harness strap and the guide bracket were always clean (Fig. 1.128).
If the seat belt is retracted on the spool, it will operate in an emergency lock. In the emergency locking seat belt does not violate passengers' convenience. In the case of car collision blocks extradition retractable seat belt, which holds the occupant in place. If fully pull the belt from the reel, it will switch to the automatic locking strap. If there is a strong belt tension or it hinders movement of the passenger vehicle is stationary or while driving, the possible cause of the inertia reel is switched to automatic locking after the belt has been pulled out too far from the reel. In order to return the inertial reel in a more convenient mode of the emergency lock, stop the car in a safe place on level ground and fully turn in the belt on the inertia reel. This coil will switch to emergency locking seat belt. Then again, pull the belt to the desired length, to buckle up.
