Engine overheating

If the thermometer indicates too high coolant temperature or the engine will not develop full power operation of the engine, or is accompanied by severe knocks or whistling sound, then a possible cause is the overheating of the engine.
1. Being a precaution, take the side of the road or to the edge of the roadway and stop.
2. Move the switch lever range to "P" (Park) (cars with automatic transmission) or the shift lever to the neutral position (cars with manual gearbox). Apply the parking brake.
3. Turn off the air conditioner.
4. Check the coolant sprays or steam coming from under the hood or from the engine compartment.
If the engine compartment out of steam, do not come close to the front of the car. Stop the engine. Then turn the ignition switch to ?ON? (ignition on). Do not start the engine. The cooling fans will turn on and begin to cool the engine.
In the absence of the steam outlet and release coolant, open the hood and allow the engine to idle until it cools down. If the engine temperature is not reduced, switch off the engine and let it cool.

NOTE
For cars Mazda MPS: When working in the engine compartment, turn off the ignition and check that the radiator cooling fans are not working. After the ignition is switched off the fans may continue to operate for 10 minutes (approximately).

5. After the cooling of the engine, check the coolant level. If the coolant level is below normal, check for a leak of fluid in the radiator hoses and connections, heater exchanger, radiator and coolant pump seals.
If you do not find any fault and flow of coolant is not available, then after cooling the engine carefully top up the coolant level and bring it back to normal.
